Welcome to BWW -- where people come to bitch and moan about being able to buy prime orchestra seats to a highly anticipated new Broadway musical at dirt cheap prices!

"
Yes because New York is expensive and, as Fred Ebb wrote, "IT'S A BUSINESSSSSS". If something looks too good to be true of course it raises questions.

You can read on reddit people are already questioning whether some of these tickets will be cancelled. I don't think they should - this is no fault of anyone who got this code. And maybe it was always the intention. But it's certainly interesting.

Also, to be clear everyone I've seen the show 3 times already in London with the original and replacement cast. I'm a fan and wishing it to succeed.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

I don't think this code getting out is an accident. Even in a tiny theater, this show is going to need some awesome word of mouth to be a hit, and this seems like the perfect way to jumpstart that. Oh, Mary did something very similar when it started previews and we all know how well that turned out.
