Their first preview is completely sold out and the cast is besides themselves on social media right now.

Honestly, their family-like mentality is just too pure.

But it drops off significantly after that - the 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. previews have lots of availability. Maybe they are papering or holding back seats for the first show. Or maybe they have real reason to be optimistic.

They sent an email to get on a waitlist for the first preview so I’m sure they’re holding some back.

Interesting, the understudies will be American for the Broadway production.

Brandon Contreras, Sam Hartley, Jessi Kirtley, Gerianne Pérez and Amanda Jill Robinson have been newly announced.

I changed my post right before you linked.

The Broadway account had been following each of the London covers before pulling the good ol’ switcheroo, so I had figured it was a done deal.

Per the musical's official website, there will be a $49 in-person rush and a $39 digital lottery.

Additionally, there will be a "golden preview draw" lottery for $39. Just one draw for all previews, on February 12 at 10 AM. You can sign up now on the site.

Use code OMDRAW1 for $39 seats for any preview show. This includes prime orch seats and all!

Glad I saw this. I didn’t even receive a confirmation of my entry, let alone notification about whether I’d won or not. Grabbed a ticket for this coming Monday night.

I remain unsure about the material after trying again to listen to the cast recording, but I’m intrigued by the praise that has been heaped on this show enough to shell out $39.

I saw a Tuesday matinee of the show blind last summer and it was one of the best theatrical experiences of my life. (I majorly regret not getting Sangria, but will do so next time). I don't think I would have loved the cast recording prior to seeing the show, but I downloaded it and listened to it as I exited the theatre and killed time before my evening show. I can't think of another show where I've immediately wanted to listen to the cast recording like that. I'm hoping to catch one of the last Broadway previews next month, and will definitely revisit the West End production later this summer. I found it joyous and heartfelt. I think comparisons to Hamilton undersell/undermine the show's core.

$39 for prime orchestra??? This does not feel like a good sign!!!

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

I nabbed myself a really nice seat; thank you for sharing, guess I'm going twice now in previews!

The producers do unhinged stuff like this for the London production, too. It wouldn't surprise me if they leaked the code themselves. I don't think it's a sign of anything other than them chasing online chatter. Looking at seating charts for the first couple of months, sales seem pretty solid, or at least at the better end of the new musicals. This remains one of my favorite shows of the last few years, I'm pumped to be able to see it again (and repeatedly now!).

Why? New shows with smart producers have been doing this kind of preview pricing more and more, either by discounting most seats or offering steep discounts on a smattering of seats. It gets the house numbers up and generates better word of mouth right out the gate. Don’t see any issue here.

Ok I see what's going on here - I'm pretty sure this code is meant to be the winners of the draw? It's not a general discount code which I had mistakingly assumed. The sales look far too good I don't believe this is meant to be distributed more widely - they are basically having money walk out of the door!! Correct me if wrong.....

It looks like it wasn't a real drawing. It appears that everyone who signed up got the code.
