One thing worth considering... both the official website and now social media have said there is no confirmation the original cast will come to Broadway.
Obviously, considering a lot of the appeal of the show in London was based on the the talents and chemistry of the Split Lip company they could still be in negotiations or this could be a marketing tactic to build hype, but just to speculate wildly...
Could this maybe end up as a Spamalot-type situation where the show is cast with a bunch of well-known American comic actors?
Being that the casting notice is only for swings, I'd be shocked if they weren't bringing over the London company. This doesn't feel to me like a show you can cast exclusively via offer-only people.
From the NYT announcement article: "Thoday said he hopes that the original cast will come to New York, but that that depends on whether they are able to get visas."
I have no idea how this process works. But, it hasn't seemed to be a problem for any other shows recently. Sunset Blvd. and Hills of California both have tons of UK-based actors. I believe in this show. But, it's also 100% giving "Adventures of a first-time producer," which is slightly concerning.

Yet another survey has been sent out, this time asking when and where you buy tickets and price range.
The email also hinted at the original cast coming over for the show since they "hear you loud and clear re: the OG cast."

It's quite easy to get a visa for performers nowadays (albeit still an annoying and sometimes lengthy process).
Since these performers also wrote the show, it's very easy to make an argument that they are vital to the opening of the show. The producer's quote is a roundabout way of saying "we've offered the roles to the original cast but we don't have all i's dotted and t's crossed yet." Which is better than overpromising and underdelivering.
Meanwhile, Jasmine Amy Rogers still hasn't officially been announced as the star of BOOP, yet Jerry Mitchell and she have been posting all over social media about her being in it.
Since it’s now available Mincemeat SHOULD be working with the Shuberts to open at the Music Box instead.

I saw this today in London and found it quite underwhelming. With all the fans online I really expected more. The broad humor doesn't really work and I didn't find any song particularly memorable. I did like that the theatre sold all the seats for the same price dollar equivalent of $64. Would like to see then bring that over to the US run.

Absolutely no. OM only has a cast of six (not "Six", obviously) and has found a comfortable home in the West End's Fortune Theatre of 432 seats. Too big of a house and the cast members would look lost and the Music Box is over 1000. One of the smallest theaters they could get was the Golden of 800 seats where I think aside from the Booth is a perfect fit.

They’ve posted two phone numbers.
The first is Montague musing on casting choices
Believed to be Natasha’s voice
Second just posted and seemingly confirms original cast is transferring.
Editing - heard the voicemail.
All five original cast members now confirmed for the transfer.

Funny…I think the Music Box feels more intimate specifically because the rear mezzanine of the Golden seems much further away than many larger theatres. I would rather sit in the last row of the Music Box mezz than most of the rear mezz of the Golden. Also, I can’t explain why, but the rear of the orchestra of the Gplden seems further away from the stage than the last row of the Music Box orchestra.
Some were born to follow but THEY were Born to LEAD ON BROADWAY!
Did anyone get the presale code? I waited for an email at 10am and got nothing.

The maps start at Row D

Regarding prices - are they out of their f*cking minds?? Nothing in the orchestra or front mezz below $179 other than a few rear side orch seats at $149??
I'll wait for papering and/or rush.

At least they won they Olivier. Real Women Have Curves presale is also on and orchestra is $186+ and front mezz $176+ except the last row is $155. Bonkers.
Considering the number of $49/$59 seats available and the fact that the orchestra seems on par with most new shows, despite the hot press from London, I’m not as shocked as I thought I would be. Knowing this show and knowing the layout of the Golden, I think the rear mezz is fine. (The balcony of the Fortune is London is HIGH, but still good)
Mostly, my sticker shock came from the fact that I spent £39 ($50) for a front row aisle seat last year in London, but their theatre economics are different than ours. I can definitely foresee a discount coming as well as rush/lotto opportunities
I do think this would've been a show that should have used preview pricing. I believe it'll have fantastic word of mouth. But, it will need to build that. It being a very popular Olivier award winner is good. But, they should act like they're building and selling a new show from scratch because, as we've see in the last few years, London success can sometimes mean nothing.
I, however, do not need to be sold. I was at the first preview on the West End and can't wait to be at the first preview on Broadway!
The code for the 11AM hour was GOLDEN007. Had no trouble landing a $59 aisle seat in the top row upstairs.

I am tempted to buy the $49 tickets in the last row of the mezzanine. Do you think I should wait for rush on the day of? I have a party of three coming for my birthday weekend and I want to see this show with them.
