A few days ago, multiple celebrity gossip news sources were abuzz with the news that Ashlee Simpson is in talks to join the Broadway company of CHICAGO as Roxie Hart, reprising the role which she played in London a few years back. A report from MSNBC last night reveals that the star and recent Melrose Place alum will be headed to the Great White Way in December.

Did anyone see Melanie Griffin in "Chicago" when she did it a few years back? I remember reading one review from a major newspaper that said, "She can't sing, act or dance....and she's brilliant!" Ha, ha...

Stunt casting does provide a lot of talking on the board. The way I look at it is, it keeps the show running, and keeps actors/musicians/crew/box office/ushers employed. And, that's a very, very good thing!

Stunt-casting only works if it's someone will pay money to see. America didn't even want to watch her for free on a network TV show.

When I saw her in London, I definitely didn't think she was all that impressive. She was completely overshadowed by the rest of the cast.

They turned the fantastic Terri White down after nine auditions for Momma Morton and the ever-so-talented Ms Simpson will star as Roxie? Is there something wrong with this picture? This is a must-miss production.
