They turned the fantastic Terri White down after nine auditions for Momma Morton and the ever-so-talented Ms Simpson will star as Roxie? Is there something wrong with this picture? This is a must-miss production.

I know some of you watch The Soup. They had a funny joke about Jessica Simpson. Joel McHale said something like Ashlee Simpson will star in the Broadway Revival of Chicago. Jessica Simpson wil be flying to Chicago to find Broadway! I know I messed it up, but of course, I can't compete with Joel McHale's line deliveries!

Eckkk... she can't even sing that well, how do you think she'll even dance? It's like casting a dog for Elphaba, nuff said.

I don't want to judge without seeing her in the part first, but she's awfully young for a character who says "I'm older than I ever thought I would be."

Then again, this is the Weisslers we are talking about, so I suppose it doesn't matter.

This is the saddest thing to happen to Broadway in a long time. A MUST MISS production is right!
I also read this is her "childhood dream" to star on Broadway!? Get in line sweetie....behind all the fabulous people who actually deserve, have trained, and paid their dues to star on Broadway.
Fired from Melrose cause she can't act, and yet they give her starring role on Broadway.
What the *&%# is Broadway coming to?

Oh come on can we be any more over dramatic. It's not the end of the world and not the worst stunt casting that we have seen on Broadway. She is a trained dancer and got good reviews when she played Roxie in London.

"Did anyone see Melanie Griffin in "Chicago" when she did it a few years back? I remember reading one review from a major newspaper that said, "She can't sing, act or dance....and she's brilliant!" Ha, ha..."

I recall reading a review of Rosie O'Donnell that was featured on E! of her work in Grease!, a critic said "She can't sing, she can't dance, she's terrific".

Funny enough, Melanie Griffith got pans across the board, except for the New York Times that gave her a good review, if I'm not mistaken.

lasagna- It was more along the lines of "Jessica Simpson found out her sister was going to make her Broadway debut in CHICAGO. Jessica flew to Chicago, and ran around asking, 'Where's Broadway?'"

Sad indeed. Let's just hope she respects the institution of Broadway more than say, B-list celebrity Mario Lopez did during his run in A CHORUS LINE. Those stories about him still get under my skin.

With that said, it's sad that the amazing talented actress I saw play Roxie on tour recently is still ON THE TOUR and not on Broadway, unless it's by choice. She was.. is.. AMAZING.

The last time I saw CHICAGO was when "Melrose Place" alum Lisa Rinna was in it.

I am very curious to see another "Melrose Place" alum Ashlee Simpson in the role and as someone who missed Griffith in the role (I chose to see NINE instead), I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Simpson's take on Roxie!
