Has anyone here ever tried to exchange tickets that they got from Audience Rewards? I'm assuming if I go to the box office, I might be able to do it, but wondering if anyone has ever been able to do this.
I was able to exchange my AR tickets on 2 separate occasions over the years, by calling their Customer Service phone number. This was before my trips to NYC. In speaking to the rep on the phone, he told me that the box office isn't able to do any exchanges. It's only on the phone. It was a number of years ago, and I assume the same policy is in place.

I just called AR, and they very firmly told me no exchange was possible, either through them or at the box office. Sigh...

It all depends on the theatre and (of course) the show's past date policy. A show that's selling out usually won't allow past dating. For Nederlander theatres, Broadway Direct takes past date requests via their website (look in the FAQ section). Shubert shows accept past date requests only via phone on their customer service line (212) 239-6210 on the day of the performance you want to try and attend. I'm not sure how ATG handles requests.

I tried it two months ago and had no success either. My train home was canceled after I had already purchased show tickets and I had to switch to an earlier train. I asked if I could just change the name of the person picking up the tickets so that a family member could use them and they wouldn’t do that either.

This it for The Outsiders at the Jacobs Theater, in case anyone's had experience with that box office.

Audience Rewards has the WORST customer service -- and it's gotten even lousier lately since the website "upgrade". As I said above, try the Telecharge customer service line -- but for THE OUTSIDERS you're probably out of luck. It's selling too well for past dating. Maybe wait 6 months or so?

AR is strict. It's also will call only in order to prevent scalping.

I have picked up AR tickets recently without having to show id, so maybe worth trying to give them to a friend.
AR wouldn't exchange my tickets but they did change the will call name on a ticket when I was unable to attend. Possibly an option
