To me it was more of a mixture of plots put together but if you know a specific plot of Avenue Q- please enlighten me....I'd be interested in hearing it.

I sat in the rear mezz both times I saw the show and thought the seats were great. The theater IS really small and you can actually see the actors' faces from the last row.

I've seen Q in every different part of the theatre, rear mezz being my first. No matter where you sit, you will have an awesome time. The music and cast are so booming and talented they reach every seat.
Something you should know...well, be prepared for "The Money Song". Bring money!!

I have seen Q five times. I hate it. LOL.
The best seat is 5th row center. If you can't afford that,
try for the lottery. It is actually the most amazing place to be.
You are so close you feel like you are in the show.
If you lose then rear mezz is fine.
But sitting in the first row is so riveting.
I LOVE Q!

You're so right Corine! Rear mezz seats should be fine. But do bring money for the "Money Song." All the money they collect during that song goes to BCEFA.

Yes. I always give to bcefa. I am sad i will be missing Bears this year.
But this monster needs new clothes.
Whoever wins Trekkie at Broadway Bears is lucky. I am afraid to go. I have a job and i tell you, i would bid more then i can afford. It sucks to be me.

Posted: 2/19/05 at 2:54pm...I tried to get tickets-and I looked at prices for March 6th on all 3 sections..and they are all 96 dollars (or whatever the price is). Is there anyway to get them cheaper? Is there anyway to get good tickets now? I understood that Avenue Q does a lot of "week of show" sales, so I figured I could get good seats, but the only seats left are like on a REALLLY far side or pretty far back and on the side. Are those seats ok?

Very often the cheaper seats sell out faster especially in s small theatre. And Ave Q is a show that sells pretty well. If you aren't willing to pay the $100 or so for orchestra, then your only alternative is to try the lottery, however don't count on winning. They only pull 6 names and there are usually quite a number of people there, especially on the weekends. I would say go for the $100 tickets, its such an amazing show
As for the plot...there isnt really one, its more of a "theme."

I'm pretty sure they pull more than 6 names- maybe they pull 6 when all 6 of them take two tickets each. In any case, I agree that the chances of winning the lottery are always pretty poor.
There is a plot to the show, even if a lot of the score doesn't contribute to it. Or don't things between Princeton and Kate count as events that move the show forward?

How much money should you give in the money song?
Also, I found center row R, are they better than rear mez?

There isn't really a "plot" it's more of a theme. Yet, if it's another show that doesn't have a "plot" it gets dogged over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again...funny how that is. This board is strange that way. It's okay for people to gush on and on about "Avenue Q" and "DRS" and "Spamalot" and say, "Oh my God, I've seen it like, five times, it's like so funny that these puppets and saying dirty things and having sex, oh my god, it's great." Yet, when someone says, "I've seen 'Wicked' five times and it's great," the verbal wars begin. Ah, well...whenever I see "Avenue Q" it better be so great, the double standards are ignored

Avenue Q is the best. It DOES have a plot!!! And the songs are really good. I've seen it 5 times. Look who's calling who a hyppocritte, Ordinaryjukeboq, you say Avenue Q only has a "plot" and not a theme, and then you say you haven't seen it. So how the heck would you know, mister?! Sorry I'm getting mad, but you MAKE ME SO MAD!!! Avenue Q is the best. I've seen it 6 times. I'm going to see it again because it's awesome. and it DOES have a plot. Do you hear me? Go see it for your self and you'll see it DOES have a pilot. Especially when you sit in the front like I did when I won the lottory. You should definitely try to do that when you go because you can see everything better - especially Avenue Q's plot which is great along with it's great songs and actors and puppets and songs. You'll see.
I RUV AVENUE Q! (that's not a typo, it's a line from the show LOL but you wouldn't know that because you haven't seen it yet, but still you feel free to make judgments about it not having enough of a plot. God, you make me so MAD!)

Okay, this is what I mean about people. Maybe I foolishly assumed that people who read this thread, would know that when I wrote that it didn't have a plot, I was quoting what someone else had said, just a few messages before mine. Read down the entire thread, and you'll see that I was quoting what someone else said. Also, a couple of other things, we're discussing plot, not a pilot, my screen name is OrdinaryJukebox, not OrdinaryJukeboq, and I would have understood the "Ruv" reference. I have the cast recording, I enjoy the score, just pointing out how foolish and immature some people can be (thanks for helping me prove my point) about "Avenue Q" without comments from many people, while if people express a shred of the enthusiasm for "Wicked" they're verbally attacked. So, thanks for helping me prove my point.

I read more about how much people hate "Wicked" and Idina Menzel than I do from fans. Yes, there are many, many fans. But, for every fan that posts here, there are at least two or three people ready to jump down their throat. I'm not even taking a stand right now about what show I like more and blah, blah, blah. I'm just stating the obvious, or at least, what I seem to read a lot of. For God's sake, if someone posts something about "Wicked" lately, they seem to be apologizing for doing it. I mean, this is a message board, what's to apologize about? I'd like to see other people do that when they chat about other shows. If the die hard fans of "Avenue Q" don't have to, why should anyone else?

God, ORDINARYJUCKEBOX! ARE YOU HAPPY? I spelled your stupid name right! God! That has so nothing to do with what we were talking about! And I wasn't verbally attacking you. How could I be verbally attacking you over the computer? You're the one whose so stupid. And yes, if you go back a few postinggs you'll see right there that you did say clearly there's more of a theme than a plot. So thank you for proving MY point, O.J. (I'm abbreviating your name in case you can't figure that out.) God you make me so MAD! And it's not just because I love Avenue Q. Everybody loves Avenue Q except you, and that's just because you haven't seen it yet which you even said in your own post. So how could you not like it or say that it has a plot or more of a theme than a plot if you haven't even seen it yet? See what I mean? God!
I RUV AVENUE Q!

I don't think he sees anything, he just says things.
Codine - I adore your name, was it intended to be a pun on "Corine2," I hope so. Not that I don't really like Corine, but I just think it's funny. And am I the only one who thinks that Ordinary Jukebox's avatar looks like Harvery Fierstein?
