Well hey, Princeton can't keep his hand in his pants so it is only a matter of time before he "swings" and breaks up this marriage. :)

Marionettes getting married is where I draw the line.
What's next?
The Lonely Goatherd Marrying the sheep?
I wanna see that kid in Warhorse marrying *his* puppet!
I mean Avenue Q really needed some new publicity because no one really heard much from it in a while
Showchoir, it is doing just fine over at NWS.
At first I thought, "Great. We bust our humps for equality and what do they show? Two male puppets getting married."
I find it a publicity stunt and nothing more.
What's sad is I saw an article with 60 beautiful pictures of loving, happy couples, and the puppets were thrown in there as well.

how do you know that?
Ok Jane, enough is enough. That's all I will say.

Coulda been worse, y'know. Coulda been those two from the musical about Dan Savage.
I feel that this sent a very sweet and positive message. Kudos to them. We all need to open our minds. It was just a gesture.

Why was only Kate Monster there? Were Nicky, Princeton, Brian, and Christmas Eve unavailable? I understand Trekkie Monster's absence because he never leaves his apartment.
Union rules and the price of paying the puppeteers and props crew to be there may have prevented the rest of the gang from coming?
Frankly, I think the idea of a "gay marriage" for Rod and Ricky is nice. Having that take place on the first or second day real gay couples can get married and trying to make it a press event? Not as nice.
Hair's onstage marriages were probably a PR stunt too. But you know what? Real couples got married and had an unforgettable wedding ceremony. I find that kind of stunt much cuter than a fictional marriage between puppets (who aren't even headed towards marriage in the show).
*edited to be less rude*
HAhahahha so many ridiculous people on this board. You guys kill me.
Perhaps we should be so lucky.
I don't know if it needs to be picked apart like this. It was just something they did.
Honestly, people need to lighten up! If we keep perceiving the gay marriage issue as "us vs. them", the progress will be much slower. Taking it too seriously only encourages the homophobes to get riled up about it.
I agree! It's just a publicity stunt, but its also a metaphor.
It only works if you've seen the show, or know the plot secondhand, but maybe people can't accept the sight of two MEN together yet, but they can accept the theoretical storytelling device of watching two (characters- puppets) fall in love.
I support Avenue Q getting some publicity, if only because they've been a consistent successful gay friendly musical since on the NY scene since 2003, for 8 years now. That's time well spent changing peoples minds.
"Next thing you know, people will want to marry marionettes."
Not going to happen. No one wants a marriage with that many strings attached!

Not quite..I think it's funny and endearing.
"Ok Jane, enough is enough. That's all I will say."
It sure is!
Well, as you know. It wasn't.
