FinnFanatic, I don't have time to transcribe them right now but you can check out the barees site and look on the message boards. I know that there are lyrics posted there.
If you can't find them, I'll PM you tonight with the lyrics.
"... Still a little bit of your taste in my mouth.
Still a little bit of you laced with my doubt. Still a little hard to say what's going on..." Damien Rice
(CUE: PETER: What are you saying? JASON: This – us – whatever.)
JASON: Peter, it needs to stop.
PETER: You stand before me, yet I barely know you. Is it so easy to leave? Hm? Where is the boy who said I was his soul-mate? Where is the boy I believed? We climbed an escape grown from seeds that you planted. You slew all my giants, ignoring your own. And now that they haunt you, I’m left with my courage, alone.
When did we lose ever after? I thought the good guys would triumph. I trusted the hero. I didn’t hear his goodbye. I guess it was lost in the talk of a straight-acting coward!
JASON: Who are you to go and blame this all on me? You’re the one who went ahead and changed the rules.
PETER: What?
JASON: You found your way and now it’s all okay! Is it that simple then? Really? You’re such a fool. It’s time to wake up, Peter, Put away the fairy tale. The clock is striking midnight, can’t you hear? Not all tales have happy endings – we can’t keep pretending. ‘Cause there’s no such thing as heroes who are queer.
PETER: When did we lose ever after? You can’t be the same boy I followed – thought I’d always follow. You’ve hurt me more than you know. All that I wanted was you. You were my tomorrow.
JASON: Peter - promise you won’t tell anyone.

Man, I love this song. Michael sounds devestatingly beautiful on it.
Oh, by the way, thank you MadeOfGold!

No problem. I think they did a really fine job with Peter and Jason's duets: "Ever After," "Bare," "Best Kept Secret" and "Pilgrim's Hands" are all gorgeous. And "You & I" is just sexy.

I'm new to the boards, but Bare rocks!!! I've been playing the sampler CD over and over! I can't believe how awesome the songs are. But, I have a question. Besides the eleven songs on the CD sampler, where could I get the other songs? I would love to hear the rest of the musical! If anyone has any info on where I could find the songs, that would be awesome! I'm asking because some people have posted talking about how they love listening to the songs. I want to hear those songs too!!!
The word is that there's going to be a full-cast recording coming out after the show reopens. Now that will be amazing - Michael Arden's voice preserved, in all its glory!

Oh lord, I'm gonna be ADDICTED to that recording...it will be so amazing. Michael Arden and the whole show professionally recorded....sheer amazement. I love this show so much, it holds a special place in my heart.
Rumour has it that the cast recording will be produced by Stephen Trask. If this is true, we're in for a treat; this man is a genius.

Yeah, I love the Avenue Q cast recording! It's been playing non-stop in my CD-player. And before that was the Hairspray album!
Hopefully it'll be Bare next....it's just one OBCR after another!

First off, absolutely in love with the Sampler CD! Question about it, tho...was it quickly done? Is the back-up music what you actually hear in the show? Or is it "trimmed down" or whatever because of a quick release? If this makes any sense, a clarification would be appreciated! Thanks!
The Avenue Q OBCR is hysterical! You're going to love the show AspiringGuy!
And you're welcome BlueWizard. Glad it arrived safely! :)
And I had forgotten that Stephen Trask was going to be doing the cast recording. That really is going to be AMAZING! Can't wait.

No way! I can't wait until September!!! I wanna hear the rest of the songs now! (That sounded really whiny.) Well if the rest of the songs are anything like the sampler, I'll be the first one in line to buy it in September!!! And I'm also planning on seeing it several times when it re-opens. Although Michael's voice is awesome, Jenna's voice is amazing! The end of "All Grown Up" blows me away every time I listen to it. I haven't seen the show, but it's pretty clear that these two are the stars! (Sidenote... This is gonna sound really twisted, but does anyone else get really turned on at the beginning of "911! Emergency!" when Peter says "F*ck me!"? Cuz his voice is super sexy there!)
HAHAHAHA! Well it's safe to say we all have our secret pleasures about the show...including when Michael says that, just read back in this thread, and you can see a few of us gushing (broadwayguy2, madeofgold, bluewizard, whatdoineedwithlove, starlyricist...ME!) about the show and the actors

LOL! We certainly all have our fave moments. My favorite moment on the sampler is when John says in a sexy voice "So take a bow and I'll" during "You and I".
I also love the way Michael sings "Mother you know nothing of them and I'm not expecting you to find solutions. Just to be my mom and my friend." That part breaks me; especially Michael's delivery.

Yes, this thread is half-Bare, half-gush-over-Michael-Arden-et-al!
About 2day's question regarding the CD sampler: Question about it, tho...was it quickly done? Is the back-up music what you actually hear in the show? Or is it "trimmed down" or whatever because of a quick release?
It was recorded all in one day. What you hear is pretty much exactly as it is in the show, but with one glaring exception. The CD recording of "Quiet Night at Home" is missing the gorgeous cello that is so prominent onstage (Nadia actually plays the cello while singing the song). I was surprised it wasn't on the recording, because it's such a large part of the song's "sound."
(Sidenote... This is gonna sound really twisted, but does anyone else get really turned on at the beginning of "911! Emergency!" when Peter says "F*ck me!"? Cuz his voice is super sexy there!)
Oh yes, you can guess what I'm thinking about every time I hear that!
And you're welcome BlueWizard. Glad it arrived safely! :)
It did! Thank you again!
BTW Aspiringguy, when are you seeing Avenue Q? I'm so excited for you!

Oh gosh MadeofGold, I can honestly and shamelessly say that I was borderline tears the whole song, and then when Michael sings that line, I just went down. Sobbing until the end of the song. One of the most powerful lines. On a dirtier side, I love when Michael says "Think you can lend a hand here?" in "You and I." The thoughts in my head...
And BlueWizard, I'm seeing Avenue Q the 25th of August I'm pretty sure I CAN'T WAIT! I love our little BARE Cast thread...it's so much fun! The Bare community

You're welcome hon. It's always nice to spread the Bare love! :)

Me too BlueWizard. It's always nice to see what you, Starlyricist, WhatDoINeedWithLove, Broadwayguy, Trisky, Aspiringguy and other Bare fans are doing!

Oh there's no shame in that at all! I actually just introduced a friend to Bare and he said that he lost it when he heard "See Me" and "Warning" as well.
On a dirtier side, I love when Michael says "Think you can lend a hand here?" in "You and I." The thoughts in my head...
LMAO!! Oh, you! :) Naughty, naughty, naughty. :P

The entire "See Me" makes me cry. I used to WEEP during that song. I've since learned to control myself, but it still gets to me.
(Then again, I get emotional listening to cast recordings. I even had watery eyes when I first listened to the Avenue Q OBCR, of all things.)
Hmmmm, maybe I'm an overly sensitive person.

No you're not overly sensitive, I cried during "There's a Fine, Fine Line" and BARE...can't even describe it, it always gets to me, it's just so touching...thinking about it gets me all choked up.

Yes, "Fine Fine Line" left me teary-eyed. Its reprise, too, when Princeton says "So I reached for the stars." *sigh*
In Bare, "Absolution" never fails to completely break me down. It's the most powerful moment in the show, IMO, and your heart just stops with a thump at the end.
