BCEFA FLEA MARKET 2021 COLLECTORS UNITE

Hello all!

Having started this thread every year for the past few years, I would love to hear from those of you who are attending the flea market this year as to what interesting items you see at the tables this year! It was great monitoring messages from collectors at the market during the day in previous years as to what items were available as well as their sale prices.
When I attended back in 2019, it led to a very successful day obtaining many items from some of the hotter shows for myself such as Moulin Rouge,Hadestown, Springsteen on Broadway, Jaged Little pill and Come From Away among many others!
This year, I would love for those who can and cannot attend to share their wantlists and use this as a blog to try and help each other to find those special items we have been searching for over the years
I am looking for an autographed OBC playbill from Hadestown and Moulin Rouge as well as any rare promotional items from some of the top shows that have opened over the past few years. This would include any Tony voter books and opening night gifts which are at the top of my list!
Looking forward to seeing Six the musical, and I am curious as to what unique promotional or rare items are available so far for this show.
Can anyone can let me know if they produced any Tony voter books for this years Tonys because I have not seen any for sale on eBay.

I've stopped really buying props/clothing/memorabilia as I've just run out of the room for things, but I still have my prized pair of Karen Ziemba's shoes from her run as Cassie in ACL. My favorite BCEFA purchase of all.

Mostly, I like to browse the play scripts and window cards.

Curious to know if access to the tables start strictly at 10 and if there is security that lets in a certain amount of people at a time.
If someone can please comment on what items ( and the selling prices) are at the Moulin Rouge, Hadestown, Beetlejuice and ATPAM tables which usually has a mixed bag of collectibles from many of the newer shows.
Wondering if Six has any item for sale?
If any of you kind souls attending are able to pick up items for those that cannot attend this year please let us know as it would be much appreciated!
Perhaps some of you can take some photos of the tables/ price lists!
Especially curious about opening/ reopening unique items and promo collectibles such as tony voter booklets.

I won’t be attending the flea market but I’m downsizing my collection. I have some Wicked and Rent playbills and handbills I’m happy to part from if you’d like them. Feel free to PM me!

I walked home to drop stuff off and just relax for a few minutes before heading back over. It’s definitely less crowded this year, although the split street doesn’t help with crowds. It’s nice that pretty much every single person has a mask on, when they’re in the crowds at the tables. Since there’s less tables, there’s a lot less really interesting things popping up. I’m having a good time, but like always some of these tables are just charging ridiculous prices for things that no doubt will be practically given away toward the end of the day, when they don’t sell.

Can any one tell me if Triton Gallery has a table and if they are giving their usual deal on window card frames (4 for $100)?

I agree it isn't the worst crowd. I too went away & will go back later.

My best things so far are a souvenir program from the original Company and a Spamalot script that was used during a performance for the hearing impaired.

I think it's the Jujamcyn table that has various Playbill from their shows. I got the special edition covers of Mean Girls for December 2019 & Moulin Rouge February 2020.

If I’m not mistaken, I believe Triton posted somewhere that they won’t have the frames like they had in the past this year.

Honestly, that does not surprise me.   I’m sure that they suffered considerable losses due to the pandemic and most likely can’t afford to offer that generous deal.  

Ok I’m back home and done. Overall a weird flea market but a flea market, nonetheless! Tables were charging way more than they usually do and at least a few minutes ago when i left, still had the same stuff on their table that they did at 9:30 this morning because they refuse to haggle down to an actual acceptable price.

For me, there were way too many Playbill tables and please - tell the workers that nobody is gonna pay $200+ for a replacement cast signed poster of ANY show, even if Lin Manuel did originally star in it, but didn’t sign it the poster. Just take the $10 that random girl is offering and be happy you got anything.

My feet and my back are killing me. I think I need 3 Aleve’s and a drink after that.

I tend not to get anything special, so I never go into the Flea Makret expecting much. Picked up paperbacks and Playbills mostly— my crown jewel though is a poster from the original Broadway production of Glengarry Glenn Ross signed by Joe Mantagnea, which somehow ended up in the $1 bin where the vendors must have missed the signature.

Not as many deals as normal, but I still found a handful!

• There was a table with a big pile of $1 books, from which I picked up
  • Act One by Moss Hart
  • Pictures I Had To Take by Joel Grey
• A table selling Tony Nominator editions of plays for $5 each, from which I picked up
  • Sweat by Lynn Nottage
  • King Charles III
  • In The Next Room, or the vibrator play by Sarah Ruhl (which is my favorite play, so I was thrilled to find this)
• The Michael Crawford Fan Club
  • These women are always the sweetest - I swung by their table first thing at 10am and picked up an embroidered Dance of the Vampires t-shirt, and a DOTV program they had custom made for this years flea (it has high resolution versions of all of the production photos, quotes from a lot of the cast and creatives, and some funny backstage photographs of Michael Crawford in hair and makeup) - this twosome was $20, which I was happy to give since they put so much effort into designing this program.

My biggest win however was at an unlabelled, unmarked table on the edge of 7th avenue - I think it may have been an estate, but the signage was nowhere to be seen. There I found a leather letterman jacket from the Playwrights Horizons run of Assassins, with the shows logo embroidered on the back, and a pistol embroidered on the breast pocket above the initials for Front of House. It fits me perfectly, was only $10, and I plan on living in it once fall truly hits. Photos

I always bring $50 to the flea, so I stuck the extra $3 in the tip jar on the BCEFA table - I arrived at 9:45 and left at 10:30, very happy with my spoils.

I like the Frozen shirts. Some of them are really soft. I wonder if they're holding back closed show merch or if there just wasn't a lot of it. Nothing from Mean Girls?
