Red Bucket Follies Collections

Nov 12, 2025 — 10:22:23 PM

Hi all, the holidays are upon us and so are Red Bucket Follies collections. Anyone have any ideas what shows are selling with prices? I know Hadestown has lip balm for $5, poker chips for $20 and playbills for $75 along with posters and Orpheus prop paper flowers, but I didn’t catch those prices.

ROB LAKE MAGIC WITH SPECIAL GUESTS THE MUPPETS Previews

Oct 29, 2025 — 3:01:57 PM

I was there and also got picked for a trick. I’d say this is going to run closer to 80min when it tightens. It started at 7:01 and curtain call was at 8:30 on the nose even after 2/3 tech stops and and a 5 min thank you speech from Rob. I’d also say The Muppets is probably 20 min total- Gonzos bits alone were at least 10 min, but it was cool to see them live.

THE QUEEN OF VERSAILLES Previews

Oct 9, 2025 — 12:34:36 PM

Here’s my question as, I hesitate to say a fan, of the source material. Could Sherie make this work or is it beyond help- she seems to be a more appropriate presence for Jackie. i still can’t figure out how the documentary lends itself to becoming a musical. From these reports, it appears the creative team doesn’t either.

BOOP! x Tony Awards

Jun 4, 2025 — 12:13:49 PM

I’m not saying David Foster would make a huge difference, I’m saying this feels like a passion project and I would think he’d want to talk about it more and showcase the leading lady by simply showing up on the Today Show or something to play for her- other less known composers have done that sort of thing. There’s also a pre-show where instead of droning on about fashion or talking to actors who arguably no one outside the community knows at home, they could slot in a performance or two- at ...

BOOP! x Tony Awards

Jun 4, 2025 — 10:11:30 AM

I’d say with the current state of Broadway and audience levels waning the more the merrier is a good argument to be made to the league. If the shows have the money to do it, let them, get eyes on the shows and keep them open. I’m still baffled they haven’t used David Foster at all for press- his first Broadway score and he is active in the press for other things and this music was being performed before the show was even open in Chicago to generate buzz- Jessica Vosk did “Something to Shout A...

Scarlett was on tonight and they noticeably had a large insert for her joining the company as her bio and picture are not in the current playbill. She did all of Kate’s material according to the song list. She was wonderful, didn’t see Kate, but Scarlett is equally the pro and fit seamlessly into the cast.

The 78th Annual Tony Award Nominations for 2025

May 1, 2025 — 1:48:07 PM

I can kind of see the Shen snub, in my opinion what I think happened is that Criss’ characterization really hurt her. I’m over simplifying, but they are both robots, and while I get she is a newer model, when I first saw the show I had a hard time with his stylization compared to hers. She just comes off as a normal girl where as his angular movements come across as more abstract. To me, it looks like she isn’t doing anything special to become her character- it’s probably a Directing choice, ...

The 78th Annual Tony Award Nominations for 2025

May 1, 2025 — 1:26:00 PM

I think the noms look mostly about what I’d expected. A couple minor quibbles, the only true surprise to me was Igelhart. I do think if we’re doing the whole special Tony thing that the crew making the Sunset walk happen nightly should’ve gotten a nod- I expect good stage craft and a killer band when I go to the theatre. While I agree the band at Buena Vista Social Club is the heart of the show, the musicians at any Broadway musical I’d expect to be top tier. I don’t expect that 44th street i...

SMASH Previews

Mar 12, 2025 — 11:46:05 AM

I too appear to be in the minority as well. I had a really good time, it is definitely a theatre person’s show. That being said I think they do a really nice job of making a stand alone product here, meaning if you didn’t see Smash you can still go in and have a great time and understand what’s going on. The music is all still there for the most part. There are some 32 bar cuts, but looking back on the show, that’s what they were there too- for recordings they were expanded on. There is one p...

City Centers 24-25: Ragtime, Urinetown, LaChiusa's Wild Party, Love Life

Feb 11, 2025 — 11:08:23 PM

Jordan, I was there tonight as well, I found it to be an uneven production. I was happy to see Keala back, but now Tiffany was out and she’s always a highlight for me no matter what she is doing- I still think they should’ve upgraded her to Sarah in Ragtime. Anyway, Urinetown- I too saw the original and thought it was damn funny- I disagree that the material is the problem with this production, I think it’s the direction. Nothing was gained by making Little Sally an actual child, in fact, tha...
