BEAUTY AND THE BEAST tour opens tonight, is anyone going?

The new tour of "Beauty and the Beast" begins tonight in Providence, Rhode Island. The sey will be different from the Broadway production. Instead of having one huge castle set they will be having three mini castle set pieces that come together at the end. Will anyone go tonight?

I so wanted to see this. It was my first Broadway show when I was a kid and this tour is launching in my hometown. I'm sad I'm missing it because it sounds very exciting.

Hope someone here sees it and reports back!

Going to see this in Baton Rouge, LA! Hope the show is amazing. In the first article, it says "we are trying to work out the kinks" does that mean a possible broadway revival?

How would "working out the kinks" lead you to believe they are going to revive the show?
Rant, Wickud, Rant, Wickud, Rant! We're not gonna pay Rant! 'Cause everythink is Wickud!

"Leave Walt Disney Theatricals new sparkling production of The Little Mermaid on Broadway alone!!!"

don't most shows use that phrase when implying something? I don't know really, guess it's just wishful thinking

"is this home is this what i must learn to believe in, try to find something good in this tragic place, just in case i should stay here forever held in this empty space, oh but that won't be easy i know the reason why, my heart's far far away home's a lie..."

after the firt verse it went straight to "what i'd give to return to the life that i knew lately"

From the backstage pictures I've seen it seems that the boys who play Chip had to dye their hair a very strange (for a lack of better words) color red. Anyone know anything about this? I know the kids on Broadway didn't have to.

Well, I know that but I figured for Chip that, that much hair wouldn't be showing, they seem to be keeping the costumes pretty much the same.

Did anyone else read the WBRU review? It's kind of hilarious.

You might be thinking that I am stating the obvious- it is a Disney production, after all.

I was under the impression that this was a Networks tour? Is Disney Theatricals also one of the producers? It is a Disney musical, but unless they're producing it, it is not a Disney production.

Other than “Human Again” and “A Change In Me,” I found most of the songs written solely for the stage production to be unnecessary and thin.

Granted, I love "A Change in Me", it's probably my favorite song in the show, but c'mon. If any song is unnecessary and thin it's that one. Also, "Human Again" was originally written for the film so it shouldn't be included in a list of songs written solely for the stage production.
