The 2008 Tony and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights welcomes 19 Recordings/Jive Records platinum recording artist and 2007 "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks as Broadway's new Nina Rosario. Making her Broadway debut in In The Heights Thursday, August 19, 2010, 20 year old Jordin Sparks will play a limited 12 week engagement through Sunday, November 14, 2010.
"It's always been one of my dreams to perform on Broadway," says Jordin Sparks. "This is a brand new experience for me. I look so forward to spending time in New York City and joining this talented cast and my favorite new musical."
I always thought she was pretty likable on the show. A little boring, though, so I hope she's good.
So she is taking over for Dacal... must see it again before she leaves!

She starting on a Thursday? That's kinda odd
Not really. Didn't Janet start on a Friday?
It's sad that this is breaking news, but Lynn Redgrave's death is not.
I was kind of hoping this would be the end of Marcy Harriell, but oh well.
They're really trying over at ITH.
Well I guess Priscilla isn't going into the Rodgers...

I might have to see the show now.

She's going to blow out her voice doing eight shows a week IMO. I think that she has an unhealthy belting technique.

Wow. Anyone know where Janet Dacal is going?
I'm absolutely thrilled about this. Jordan Sparks is such a good singer. She is really gonna be able to sing the score. I also love that she will be the first Nina who is actually age appropriate. Great news!
Grrr. I wish it was as Vanessa.

Anything to stay relevant. The least she could do was take over for a bad actress. Marcy...

Really...? I don't think she can handle it.
Isn't Chris Jackson going to look too old with her?

She has had a problem with her vocal chords in the past, although she denies it was anything serious. You make a good point, and I do see where you are coming from. I just think that with touring and what not, hopefully her voice will be able to handle singing 8 times a week.

That's great news! I've always like Jordin. She's very talented. It's too bad her second album has not performed very well.

^ I donn't know if you're being sarcastic, but those were just rumors. Now I really want to see the show. I forgot when Corbin leaves, but will they be in the show at the same time?
I think she will be great in that role...... She has got a beautiful voice.
I am trying to be really good and not judge until I see her but I'm not thrilled by the idea.
