BWW TV First Look: SPIDER-MAN on Broadway Extended Video Preview!

The video shows off the weaving sequence and it's as great as I remember it. I like the new drum beat behind "Rise Above" when Arachne starts singing. I also like being able to see all the comic book details in the costumes up close.

But Freak Like Me? It's not as bad as Deeply Furious, but Good Vibrations wasn't even as bad as that.

The montage looks so good, but the songs make me really not want to see it. Freak Like Me sounds terrible, and while the rest of them sound fine, I really can't stand Reeve Carney's voice. Does anybody else have this problem with him? It sounds like he really beats up his voice whenever he sings, and it really sounds like he's causing vocal damage. Also, his vowels are just completely wrong, which is one of my pet peeves.

'Freak Like Me' is a vast improvement from 'Deeply Furious' which it is basically replacing.

I actually like the Peter/Mary Jane duet, as well as the staging for 'The Boy Falls from the Sky'

Can't wait to see the knew version actually, coming from someone who appreciated 1.0, even if it wasn't great. I love Reeve's voice. It's perfect for the role, and it just has a clarity to it. Freak Like Me doesn't seem like a terrible song, but what are those costumes on the ensemble members? From Target? And the choreography for the song is theme-park level.

Have they got rid of the horrid disco bass thumping as I begged in the Spidey 2.0 Quick Fixes and switched it for percussion? If so, that is a good move. I found it hard to tell on the video as I watch it via Blackberry tether in little download chunks.

I sure hope so.

Between this and free stream last week I'm really liking the music. Which is a total surprise to me.

As far the montage, I think a lot of the sets look cool. The flying looks ridiculous.

But the one thing that stood out for its sheer awfulness was the Lizard costume in the Freak song. Look again and tell me it doesn't look like a reptilian Barney the Dinosaur when it dances and waves its arms. I lol'd.

This new preview trailer is fantastic. I think in the firing and hiring of so many people, they also hired a new PR team. Because everything coming out of the show looks sick between the shots used and images captured.

I think "Freak Like Me" is hilarious. Gotta love the $65 Million dollar line in there as well.

"Boy Falls From the Sky" is still the most stunning to me though. That number is the most memorable and visually captivating. It really captures the essence of what I think the whole Spiderman musical should be about

nomdeplume- No I meant sick. As in like awesome?

And no I'm not in any way connected to Spiderman. I'm just someone who has viewed these message boards over the years and finally decided to join in on talking on them.

I'd think if anything, what would have changed the quality of the photos would be a new production photographer, though the photo credits I've seen seem the same so far.
