Saw the matinee yesterday and it just keeps getting better and better.
Just watched it for the second time tonight ... I'd forgotten how completely bone-chilling that last "for me" in Rose's Turn is. ::shudders:: My GOD, so good.
Talk about peer pressure, I succumbed and got a ticket to fly out to NY on Tuesday to see the show.
No GG, ray?

i'm goin back for more on friday!
Wiz, I did everything I could to get a plane ticket to go either Wednesday or Sunday so I could see both shows, one during matinee the other one at night but it was just too expensive and I can only go for one day. I *REALLY* wanted to see GREY GARDENS a second time but since the whole point of the trip is GYPSY, that's the only one I'll be able to see. And I'm extremely excited about it!
Damn. Still hope you have a *fabulous* time at Gypsy!
I'm going on Tuesday & I'm so excited!!!!
(sad confession: although I'm familiar with it, I've never seen Gypsy before . )
Neither have I.
That makes me feel better . This will be a good first FOR SURE.
I can't believe that I'll be there in less than a week. I will definitely have a fabulous time!
Wiz, aren't you seeing it tomorrow?
I'm seeing it on Saturday at 2.
Good news is I don't hate you anymore because I'm actually seeing it too
I'm dying to see it again..
I want a cast recording so bad!
But can I still hate you for seeing Follies?
But can I still hate you for seeing Follies?
Fine! But then I get to be envious of you for seeing both GYPSY and GREY GARDENS on the same day which was my original plan.
Fine! We're even.
I'm suddenly very excited for tonight :) Yay.
Has anyone watched it from the rear mezz (the $25 tix)? I've seen it twice from Front Gallery Center, but I might want to go see it for a third time (MY GOD IT'S SO GOOD), and I was wondering if those seats are better than FGC.
bump
I've sat in rear mezz J twice (sitting in the front row of the front gallery tonight, so I can't really compare)... it was fine. I had to squint a little to see faces, but the sound is actually not that bad.

i just love that SMALL WORLD!!!!!
Ah Ray, you are going to have such a marvelous time!! I can't wait to hear what you think.
I saw Grey Gardens the day before I saw Gypsy. That was great.
WOAH.
I saw Gypsy today for the first time... ever. I had never even seen the movie. Needless to say, I was completely blown away.
Has Patti been stage-dooring? Other than that one time?
