Not after the matinee, unfortunately.
Tuesday can't come soon enough. I think I'll be watching the original film (I can't stand the Bette Midler version) a lot of times this week. Nothing like Natalie Wood in a blue velvet dress to get me even MORE excited about seeing the show.
Update: the front of the gallery was MUCH better than rear mezz.
Cool beans ... I'm watching it for the third time next Wednesday's matinee from 2nd row Front Gallery Center. Hopefully this time there won't be bushy-haired ... ladies ... in the row in front of me leaning forward and blocking the stage. >:-O

I really want to see this again. But closer than the gallery.
But the actors sure do fill up the theatre.
Amazing.

i wanna know who's idea it was to do the lamb scene with that puppet.
ive seen it twice now & you can *HEAR* the audience go "HUH?!?!?!" when that thing comes out.
but i dont know what the solution is.
I saw it yesterday (LOVED IT) but I thought the lamb puppet was a bit odd.
Wasn't it Laurent's idea? The live animals are VERY expensive. And someone once said here...that a real Chowsie would cost more than one of the ensemble members. Plus I heard when Louise has a real lamb...it usually was distracting because she had to keep it moving from everywhere.
That being said. The fake lamb freaked me out.

yes, i DONT think live animals are the answer....i *DO* think Chowsie worked!
...but that lamb is SCARY!!!!!
theres got to be a better way to do it.
Yes! It was very scary! Especially how some random guy brought it. Maybe it would have worked better if Laurents didn't cut the scene right before it.
As far as I can remember, in the last revival (when it was a real lamb) they handed it to Louise. I think it'd work better if they handed it to her instead of that...chase thing that goes on. I don't mind the fake lamb one bit when she's holding it and singing to it.
Zomg. I'm seeing it this Thursday!

hows this for geekin out; today i got sad thinkin about what a shame it is that Dainty June never gets to meet The Strippers.
That would have been a hell of a gimmick: a stripping sister act!
"Let US entertain you...."
Okay, so by this time tomorrow I will be in gay heaven after seeing the show, how exciting is this?

I saw the show tonight, and words cannot describe how wonderful the show was. Boyd Gaines is possibly the best Herbie ever. I love his little bit with the stage manager. I also have to give props to the best little actress I have ever seen, Sami Gayle, as Baby Louise. I just thought she was so great. Patti blew the roof off the place, and added a lot of humor to the role. It was a magical evening.
Oh, Rockabye, we missed each other by a day!

Ray, I know! Follies, LoveMusik, I hoped we would have that third times a charm thing! *hugs her Davis* heh.
BTW: did anyone notice the Patti never mentioned Evita in her bio?
Rockabye, I notcied that as well. And Nanc Opel (who was also in Evita) doesn't list it either. Hmmm.
Well I can understood why Patti won't list it. But not why Opal doesn't?
