I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
i didn't know much about this show **yes, hangs her head in shame**, but I watched the original movie a few weeks ago, and fell in love! I can't wait to see this next week. My first time experiencing Patti & Gypsy. What a night!
BroadwayBoobs: I'll give all of you who weren't there a hint of who took the pictures ...it rhymes with shameless
So, when I see Patti on the 28th, I'm going to follow her back to her hotel room (wait, this is less creepy than it sounds) and climb in her luggage, fly back with her, and see her closing performance the next night. GENIUS! *Maniacal laughter*
I just had a thought - did anyone else feel that Laura Benanti beared a slight resemblance to Natalie Wood's daughter, Natasha Wagner? I admit, I was sitting in Row O but my line of sight was excellent, and during Gypsy's burlesque sequence I thought the resemblance really showed. I hadn't thought about the movie version until that moment!
I just can't put it into words how amazing this performance was. Patti OWNS
P.S The audience was great tonight/horrible at the same time. Cell phones a couple times, which actually all came from right next to me. They also seemed to be plastic-bag diving the entire night.
I love America. Just because I think gay dudes should be allowed to adopt kids and we should all have hybrid cars doesn't mean I don't love America.

I hope Patti stopped in the middle of Rose's Turn and just tapped her foot.
