This has shot to the top of my list of things to see this Spring!
And an autobiography too! (I guess that's why we haven't seen any live performances lately.)

I wondered where she had gone. Last time I saw her (about 18 months ago in NJ), she was having some lyric issues and rambled a bit with some stories. Her voice was just as it always was, though. So glad we haven't seen the last of her live performances. Count me excited and willing to pay full price for this one (and somebody please record this).
Meanwhile, Barbara Harris is metaphorically returning to the New York stage.
Hork, I had the same reaction to the original post. Literally?

Thank you both for bringing that up (I meant to last night but it was my birthday and the evening got away from me). Jordan, what do you mean she is LITERALLY returning to the stage? Why the distinction?

Just got a Telecharge email that all performances have been cancelled. Hope Ms. Cook is okay.
The show is LITERALLY cancelled?

Well, the idea was fun while it lasted.
I agree. This news is extremely THIS v v v :
wow this is disappointing and of course I hope everything is well with Ms. Cook. I'm also sad because I'll be in town during when the show was to happen and would have loved to finally see her in person.

To Jordan and All others--Please add a zillion more frowns for me to your screens. I am truly disappointed in this one. My first show on Broadway was seen from the last row of the Majestic -- far left-- and I remember Barbara Cook [along with those others] in The Music Man. I was really looking forward to this 'concert'--especially since I had fifth row center. I have seen her many times since Music Man, and will really miss this performance. May she be well, still perform, and give me another reason to come up to the city for her show!!
The article also says she's completing work on her memoir, which is supposed to be published in June. Manuscripts for books like that are usually turned in 9 months to a year before publication. So if she is just finishing it now, she must be under considerable pressure for that too.
At 88, that's a lot.

Well, she was scheduled to play "New World Stages Stage One" so in that way it would have been "literally" returning to the stage, though as far as I know, she's never played that specific stage.
