Just got my tickets for Barbra Streisand's newest farewell tour at Madison Square Garden. The American Express pre-sale started today

$350 for San Jose. They also have $750!!!

Oh dear, $750!!!! Ticket prices that high are awfully classist for someone as supposedly interested in the plight of everyman as Babs. Oh dear, I hope I don't write a bad check to get tickets. :)

Yeah....mine were $350. They're pretty good seats, but it's still ridiculous. I totally agree with you Bettyboy72.

I just got mine for $200 for the Philly show at the Wachovia Center. The seats look semi-crappy, but I don't care. I'm taking my mother. Seeing Barbra has always been her dream - too bad I'm too poor to be able to afford the decent seats!

Organizations which will benefit from the charity concert cash include those concerned with the environment, education and women's health. In a statement released through her management this morning, Streisand said, "The increasingly urgent need for private citizen support to combat dangerous climate change, along with education and health issues was the prime reason I decided to tour again. This will allow me to direct funds and awareness to causes that I care deeply about."

It make sense!

Oh.... my.... gosh....

I appreciate the fact that the money is going to charity, but it would be nice if her fans without exorbitant disposable income could get the opportunity to see her perform live.

Is any portion of the ticket price tax deductible to the purchaser or is Streisand getting the tax benefit. Why doesn't she just ask George Soros for the money since they have similar political objectives?

For a much better time, buy the boxed set of her 5 TV specials from the 60s and 70s. It's cheaper, you can relax, order a pizza, and revel in brilliance before the arrogance set in.

Keep telling yourself that fflagg. I've got the boxed set and I'm definitely not going to miss the concert. The less expensive tickets aren't anymore expensive than seeing a Broadway show. If "In My Life" can charge $100 a ticket, I'm pretty sure Barbra Streisand can charge more. I will admit there is somewhat of a self conscience, arrogant attitude, but for me, the concert is an exciting event.

I'm still considering it. But $350 to sit in the 200-level at Madison Square Garden? Not even Madonna charged that.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on June 19th. Even though she's only doing 20 total dates, I wonder if she'll add more dates at each venue?

I've not seen her in concert. But the tickets do seem quite steep for your average Joe. But, it seems that is the way of the world these days. I think its great that it's going to charity, but I have to agree, I'll donate to my charities of choice directly.

Barbra tickets went on sale to the general public today and there are still some $105 tickets available. Rumor has it that she'll be performing songs from her forthcoming Broadway CD. One of the songs is rumored to be "Defying Gravity" with some reworked lyrics by Stephen Schwartz.

I just looked for the MSG tickets... $354 for 300 level seats at the Garden. Chances are, they will make a CD and DVD of this concert like they did the last. It would be a MUCH cheaper way to enjoy the show. It might be nicer to experience it in person, but I can't see paying that to sit in the 300 section.

They were selling the upper level for $104,and $204, but they are all sold out. The scalpers are now selling tickets they purchased for $104, and $204, for over $300.

although i could afford the $100 tickets, i wouldn't go if i was FORCED, due to the outrageous prices she is charging. i wish everyone would boycott and she would find herself singing to six people stupid enough to pay $800 to hear her.

of course, i paid $600 to go to olympics opening ceremony, but that's DIFFERENT
