I was just on the wikipedia (yeah I know, not always the most reliable) page for Broadway theatres and at the bottom they have a list of upcoming productions and Bare: A Pop Opera was on there. I know there was a planned transfer after the 2004 Off-Broadway production that never happened, but I thought they had given up on the idea of it ever happening.
I read that there had been a rather successful production in the UK this year, maybe they're planning a transfer. Hopefully they bring the creative team back because they show still needs a lot of work to be Broadway caliber.
It has a very general date of 2013 in the article with an unknown theatre.
Also, if this does happen, will it be considered a new musical or a revival? Little Shop of Horrors didn't make it to Broadway till 2003, but because of the large amounts of productions it had had they considered it a revival. I wonder if this will happen with Bare.

PLEASE LET THIS BE TRUE!!!!!!
That stuff on wikipedia is seldom updated. I wouldn't hold your breath - nothing is currently in the works.

I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't true since I found another thread talking about it coming to Broadway in 2010. But, it being listed on Wiki is actually new, I like looking at that article to find out certain things about different theatres and etc. It was also updated very soon after Priscilla posted and Annie announced it was taking the Palace. It's not a definite announcement but it is peculiar that it's on there.
Hm...interesting.
Additionally, there has been NOTHING about it on Playbill...so it has never been more than a rumor. (Remember: anyone can post on the wikipedia site)

I think i would be really smart if they did finally mount it on Broadway though. It has a huge following and would probably do well and if they fix some major problems, the critics might even accept it. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but continue to breathe at the same time. Plans for Broadway more often than not don't pan out. Zanna, Don't also never made it, even though that was it's trajectory.

i loved bare but i saw my friends college production & the book itself needs sooo much work, not knocking the show though id love to play nadia any day
I remember talking to Matt Doyle when the recording came out because Rosie O'Donnell was interested in making a film of it (which I think would be a brilliant format for Bare). One of the creators (Damon, I think) refused to give up any control or let changes happen -- so Rosie walked away.
THAT's the real reason Bare will never evolve and fulfil its potential.
There was talk on this board a year or so ago about casting for a sung through reading in New York which might be what wikipedia was referring to. But I never heard what became of it -- or whether it actually happened.
Where's the companion "When is Yank! coming to Broadway?" thread? Don't you always have to ask about both of these DOA shows at the same time?
There was a reading a few months ago, directed by Stafford Aramis.
