Yeah, and Barry's the thief.
Botox and facelifts ain't cheap you know.
If somebody will pay it...
Saw him in Vegas a few years ago for quite a lot cheaper. Will take a pass here on any seat.
oh dear
for any of his die-hard fans to pay that much will be foolish. nobody is worth paying that price for, no matter how good they are.
To be fair, the entire balcony is only $50, but A-O of the orch is $350. I didn't know he could still pull in that kind of dough.
If I just get all the money my sisters got for Christmas and put it in with mine, I can totally afford that.
The tickets are only worth $700, if people pay that sort of money.
Phew! I thought I wasn't going to be able to afford tickets!
I recall hearing at one time that he wrote the songs that make the whole world sing.
If this is, in fact, the case, I would say that the seats are reasonably priced.
They're only that much if you buy them.

Seriously, I don't get Manilow fans, at least people who aren't old enough to remember him the first time he was successful in the '70s. Anyone younger? Hm. He's not even fun in a hipster, ironic way. He's just plain terrible. Bad songs, tacky-bad showmanship, bad all the way around. And he never could sing and still can't sing. He also didn't write the songs that make the whole world sing. In fact, he didn't even write the song "I Write the Songs."

This $700 premium seats is a joke and people should be crying out against it. It's about time people took a stand. I'm telling you now, if audiences pay these RIDICULOUS prices, they'll just keep getting higher & higher.
Just say no to Barry Manilow.
I book groups to see theater on Broadway and I can tell you without hesitation, this kind of thing doesn't help anyone.
Does anyone know if these are selling at all? I wonder what the advance is. I had no desire to see this at any price and certainly am not shelling out that kind of money. Personally, I find everything about him extremely tacky - looks, music, everything.

Do you hear the people cry? Standing outside The Barry Show.
They can't afford a ticket but they would so like to go.
It is the music of their grams
That they all long to hear again
Maybe the first of the month
When their checks all come.
They will pay the money gladly
Just to hear the Manilow
They will sell their first born child
They will whore their little girls
The show will will be awesome
And Barry will will sing all his songs!
Will you join us in the line
Who will be strong and wait with us
Somewhere near 44th and 8th
Barry's there for us to see
They probably only sell a handful at that price and I imagine it helps make up the difference for unsold seats. If people want to pay that much to watch the crypt keeper perform, more power to them.
I love watching him perform, but probably for all the wrong reasons.
no matter how badly he sings, I do feel a slight twinge of nostalgia from some of his big hits. I am of that generation who remembers him when.
Wasn't he Bette Midler's musical director back when she was at the Continental Baths?
The guy's probably a gazillionaire by now, what with all the commercials, tv theme songs and hit songs he wrote. Gotta give it to him for that.
It is time for us all
To decide who we are
going to see tonight
Do we have the funds
For a night at Barry Manilow?
Have you asked of yourselves
What’s the price you might pay?
Is it simply a show
For Rich old ladies
And suburban hairdressers to see?
The color of the world
Is changing day by day
Green—the cash that Barry makes!
Brown—the crap that he is selling!
Green—the color Barbra turns!
Brown—something that rhymes with ‘selling’!!
I thought Mr Manilow died out 10 years ago.
He did, but no one told him.
I saw him in is prime with great seats for $20. So this is ... a slight markup from then, even with a markdown Manilow.
