Now that some of the cast has been announced, does anyone know which way the production is leaning? Is it going towards the London version that was liked, or the North America tour that was not really liked?
I wasn't aware that the US Tour production was different from the London version. I saw the show at NY City Center and loved it; which version did I see?
It will likely be different from other staging - cut down to 90 minutes to fit the standard timing of most Las Vegas shows.
I'm heading to Vegas in October, and I notice that other shows at Caesar's properties already have plenty of discounts available, but the producers of this haven't yet elected to start offering discounts even though the dates I looked at were not well sold.
For example Donny Osmond's new solo show starting the end of this month at Harrahs has $30 off deals. He's moved into a nicer thestre than the showroom at the Flamingo he & Marie were stuck with for so long. I like Marie but find him a bit intolerable so am holding off.
Even most of the Cirque shows at MGM properties have discounts.
Only the big residencies don't seem to need to offer discounts. Most of Usher's September weekend shows are almost sold out.
Katy Perry's dates still have a lot of availability. I splurged on seats in the second tier for $195 after service fees - just a bit less than the price for my flights!

I've seen Katy Perry three times this year. You will have a blast and there isn't a bad seat in that theatre.

The first run in Toronto was, I believe, the only one in North America to use the full London package. The subsequent City Center and "Tour" (closed after one stop) both were scaled down, but were certainly based on the London/Toronto designs. I didn't see those cut down versions, but I think I remember hearing things like the car crashing into the pit were removed while the show otherwise looked the same.

Yes, for safety cosntraints in the US, the car crashing into the pit was deleted from the City Center show. Otherwise, I think it was pretty much the same as the London show.
Did the downstage plunge pool make it to City Center?
Also I would imagine the whole front of house design element in the below pic, didn't make it on tour?
I don't believe that was at City Center. I was front row Mezz, and didn't notice it if it was there.
And no pool from what I remember. But now you've got me wanting to see the Original.
