With the huge possibilty of "White Christmas" playing at the Marquis Theatre again this holiday season according to Variety: http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118006632.html?categoryid=15&cs=1, are the rumors of the "Beauty & the Beast" Holiday revival true? Will it also play at the Lunt-Fontanne or will the theatre be empty till "The Addams Family?"

^There's been as many rumors f Beauty returning as there were {tos} returning. I would love for it to happen, but I really doubt it will. and if it did, I'd want it to play a theatre large enough to support the original Palace set designs. Really, it'd be an insult to do anything but.
If it comes back, they're going to use an existing set they've got in storage. It's the only wait it would be economically feasible. The Palace sets, sadly, have long been dismantled.
That would be amazing if it did, but I doubt it.

Says the prophet...
Definitely no Beauty. At least not this year.
I'm here to tell you it IS returning this Christmas season.
Angela Lansbury will reprise her film work as Mrs. Potts. They're adding "We Need a Little Christmas for her and adjusting her Mame song to "If Tea Walked into My Life" with special lyrics by THE Jerry Herman.
Fransesca Zambello will be staging Be Our Guest. The utensils will be on healies and have their objects in puffy paint on a bright yellow shirt. Chip will have a pink mow-hawk. Lumiere will now be played by red and orange fabric. The castle is now a gigantic diaphragm.
Terrence Mann has dropped out of Addams Family but not to reprise The Beast. He'll be playing Lefou who now commits suicide after singing a more topical number called "Sars".
The Beast will be played by Fran Weissler.
Belle now speaks entirely in French. Paris Hilton and Paris Jackson will alternate the role. Hilton will be doing the coveted 4am showings
Liza Minnelli will be playing Gaston who has now been renamed Halston. The publicity will read "LIZA AT THE PALACE AT THE LUNT-FONTANNE AS HALSTON AT THE PALACE IN HALSTON AT THE LUNT-FONTANNE"
And lastly, Cogsworth the clock will be played by Susan Boyle's fifteen minutes of fame.
All of this is pending title of show and their decision to play the Lunt-Fontanne, Madison Square Garden, or Wrigley Field.

I actually think a holiday engagement of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST would work very well.
Especially at the WaMu.
I heard from a producer friend of mine that the show will be back in 2010. Not saying that is for sure, but he is a producer of a current, very successful bway show and he usually knows his stuff!
"The Beast will be played by Fran Weissler."
Oh, the Weissler's with their stunt casting...

ok... seriously... where did this BatB holiday revival rumor come from? was this something said from someone in the business or knows something? or was this some random person on the message boards who just felt like saying it should happen and thus just starting a rumor...
It was started by someone who is just a poster who claims that they know more then we do due to the fact that they have " connections."
I just do not understand why people are still so hyped up about this show. I love the movie, but as a theatrical piece BatB feels very "theme park."
I wouldn't mind this coming back at all!

Is it just me or do have they mentioned a holiday revival every year since it closed? Granted its only been two years, but I swear I heard the same thing last year.

Could the tour possibly play in NYC around the holidays? It's possible, no?

Slightly off-topic, but there's a new modern take on Beauty being made into aa movie. "Beastly" starring High School Musical's Vanessa Hudgens, Neil Patrick Harris, and Mary-Kate Olsen. This isn't even a Disney movie. I'm a second away from putting a bullet in my head.
