I picked up my tickets last evening and could hear Bernadette belting out Before the Parade Passes by. And I'm happy to report she was spectacular my friends. I actually stood in the lobby listening and her voice was just pitch perfect. Everyone who walked in just froze because she was so good. I saw Bette 4 times and loved the show but there is just no comparison vocally. Hands down Bernadette just knocked it out of the park last night and I wasn't even in the theatre. Box office guys were smiling. I'm dying see what she does with the role and hope this show continues to thrive with her in it. Love Gavin and Kate (excited to see how they have grown with two new leads) and Victor is so sexy I think we're going to be in for a real treat. We all need a feel good show right now. Pulling for ya Bernadette and Co! : )

What a load of baloney. You just "happen" to be there when she was singing parade. You really can't here much in that lobby or in that box office. I am sure she will do well. But you are so full of it.
I mean, I believe them. I remember hearing a rehearsal really well when I rushed for Donna’s second performance.

Actually, a few months ago when I was picking my tickets up to see an evening Donna performance, the matinee was going on and I could hear the performing the title number perfectly. You can definitely hear the show from the lobby.
Nah. He is full of it. Just happened to be there and had to run back here to report. Come on. I am sure she sounds great. But I don't believe the account and the tone of the post.
Updated On: 1/19/18 at 02:08 PMthey didn’t run back here to report it. Lol. They heard her sing last night, not today.
Box Office was open last night? And according to instagram yesterdays afternoon rehearsal was a dance stop and go . Look at Wil Burtons social media. I am sure it is thrilling if you are at the box office and happen to over hear rehearsal. But such a particular comment and the obvious intent of the post is not necessary. And I am excited for Bernadette as well.

Wow someone has a GIANT chip on their shoulder. And the amazing thing is you are absolutely WRONG! I was there at 8:15 pm. She was singing Parade. After the song the producer actually called for a break. I was surprised there was quite a bit of applause from inside the theatre...my guess is 30 or so people in the house watching. There were two gentlemen...I'm guessing in their 50's working in the box office. I didn't run back here to report on it...I actually wrote this 5 minutes ago. I hope you know how dumb, misinformed and arrogant you sound. I was simply letting everyone know that I heard her...and yes you can hear very well in the lobby. If you've ever even been in the Shubert then you know the box office is literally right outside the house. There's not a lot of "lobby." Whatever your beef with this production or Bernadette is yours alone. I'm wishing the entire team a good karma and a great run. And I hope you find some peace. Cheers!

I think the more of these details you post the bigger whole you are digging for yourself. But go in peace and bless you.
Hole. Not whole. Yikes. All this Bernie excitement has me a mess.

Nowhere on Burton’s social media does it mention anything about a dance stop and go

I think the line that did you in was " Everyone who walked in just froze because she was so good." It is just so pretentiously phony. Come on. You went to the box office last night to get your tickets and you knew there were 30 people watching and everyone that walked in just FROZE...GURL.....

I have no idea what you heard (or didn't hear) --- but when there's not a performance going on, box offices close at 8:00pm on the dot --- otherwise they go into overtime --- and no producer is paying for that!

You wouldn't know...because you weren't there.
Take care.
First of all, if you want to use the word for someone listening and doing something with their ears, it’s spelled “hear” not “here”.
That said, of course you can hear a show from the the box office lobby. Many times I have bought tickets at the BO and if a matinee is in progress you can HEAR it. I’ve waited and listened many times to a performance in progress from the BO.
And while we’re at it, why the nasty tone toward this poster? Jesus. Go out and have a smoke.

I don't know whether there was a rehearsal last night but I CAN vouch for the fact you can hear the performances quite well from the box office area. The doors are far from sound proof.
Isn't the dress tonight? That is what would make sense. Jorge would know. This show makes people happy. No need to attack anyone or make up stories either.
When Bette was first rehearsing, there were people who were pressing their ears up to the doors on 44th, so sounds plausible.
Plus, Bernadette Peters was seen having dinner with 4 other people at Gallagher's on W. 52nd Street around 7pm. Highly doubtful she would be at the Shubert Theatre rehearsing an hour later.
Oh, Jesus! Who cares if this post is true or not? This was a cool post and I can’t wait to see Ms. Peters in the role!

Cool. I walked by the theater last night to check out the new signage around 6:30 and the box office was open and I did see people on line purchasing tickets! Not sure what time you were there but who cares?
Hello, Bernadette!

The box office was indeed open at 8:15 PM yesterday. I walked in to pick up tickets and Bernadette and the chorus was singing Before the Parade passes by. Bernadette was absolutely in amazing voice. Yes you could easily hear her in the lobby. I was not alone in the lobby. And the producer or stage manager or director or someone called for a break and then for them to move on. My guess is that they were going through tech cues for lighting or something...just a guess folks as I was not inside the house. But they did applaud after the number and my guess was the house had 30-40 people inside...just a guess from the applause. Then I left the box office and took two photos of the marquis and posted them on my social at 9pm when I got home. No I'm not giving you my social info because you all are clearly crazy. Haha! What you need to know is I could care a less if you want to believe this or not...this was meant to be a nice heads up post to people who love and support the theatre that she sounded amazing. And trust me she does! Those of you, like myself, who have seen lots of shows and many with her in them will be happy. You other freaks are turning this into some conspiracy theory and it couldn't be further from that. The end.
