Would anyone be kind enough to find my review of Night Music when I saw it with CZJ? To prove that bitch that I did see the original cast?
Search for it yourself.
I can't find it...LOL! And some people seem to be better at looking for my own posts than myself.
Because it's 3 AM and muscle is exasperating.

Catherine Zeta-Jones in CHICAGO

I agree with everything Ray said. I actually asked her at the stage door if she has ever sung any of the songs from Kiss of the Spider Woman, and she said she hasn't. Then I told her that the score would perfect for her voice.
I hope she gave some thought to what I said. She'd be perfect in that musical.
With that said, her perfomance in Night Music was truly mesmerizing.

I found my review...I saw the show Jan 6th.
A Little Night Music. My Review.

I just came back from the show.
I'm not usually a fan of Sondheim's musicals, but I enjoyed this one.
I highly doubt this musical piece would be selling out nightly w/o Catherine Zeta Jones as the headliner. But the good news is that CZJ doesn't dissappoint. She sang the songs beautifully, and her acting was top notch. She was a goddess onstage, a lot like her Velma Kelly on screen at times. I couldn't take my eyes off of her, even though I'm not a fan of her film work(except for Chicago).
Angela Lansbury was also terrific in the show, although her singing was more talking than singing. She was the only person in the cast who couldn't really sing, but I certainly enjoyed her performance nevertheless.
Alexander Hanson was simply fabulous.
The show was filled with beautiful voices, simple sets and grat acting and orchestrations. Erin Davie, Hunter Hedlika, Leigh Ann Larkin and Ramona Mallory were terrific!!!
Glad I got to see this. It was quite magical.

Color - this was posted by PalJoey on the same page that I said not everyone agrees -
"I myself look forward to Muscle's opinions. I rarely agree with him, but he is a contrarian, and this country owes a lot to contrarianism and the fearless expression of contrary opinions."
That's what I was referring to. 'Most' and 'everyone' are not the same thing - just to keep YOU informed.

Y'all realize he enjoys this, right?
If we all (myself included) just started ignoring him, he'd eventually disappear. And I mean REALLY ignore.
I don't know if there's something wrong with him (he's a bit of an oddball in person) or not, but he is immature and loves to stir the pot. That's all it is... a game.
Thanks Q and PalJoey, well, you can't have a different point of view on this board.
By the way, to whoever said that I'm the "only" person that liked Memphis, and that I "like" it just to go against the flow, I am not sure if this person is aware that it won a Tony, so evidently, a lot of people liked it...haha.

So you don't like Night Music, you don't like Sondheim, only liked Jones and then went back to see it with out her because you wanted to hear the sore (which apparently you dislike) again? Huh>?

no, on messenger and texting...forum posts, you can just ignore.

Memphis won because tour business is more interested in the musical than the other choices to tour the country.
Don't delude yourself, please.
Great point Joe.
If muscle just wanted his opinion to be heard he wouldn't post aggressive titles like :Bernadette Peters is terribly miscast in Night Music". Of course he's entitled to his opinion, but terribly miscast? If anything, and I like her in the role, Zeta-Jones, was the miscast one. And besides, the role of Desiree lends itself to be played by any type. Physically, Peters is glamorous enough and beautiful enough to be a believable as a traveling actress past her prime. Okay, you didn't like her. Fine. But miscast? You're just trying to stir the pot.
I think it's great to be unafraid to state your opinion regardless of the majority of thought on the subject. But that's not what Muscle is doing. He's thought against so many things that I really find it hard to believe that he's some lone crusader against popular thought. ]
He's a **** stirrer. Nothing else.
He stirs asteriks??
Why aren't you Marquise anymore?
um....muscle23ftl...were all the swings on? You mentioned then in your post? I find that odd.

I like Night Music. I like Sondheim, he is definitely not my favorite, but "Losing My Mind" is among my favorite songs. I just like some of his stuff,,,and dislike some of it too.
Night Music is a wonderful musical and I love it, especially when it has the right cast. I LOVE the score of Night Music.
Don't put words in my mouth, thank you.
"um....muscle23ftl...were all the swings on? You mentioned then in your post? I find that odd"
I mentioned all of them, because I am not sure who they were...my seats weren't exactly that close from the stage, I was in the back mezz.
Karen Murphy played Mrs. Segstrom, Erin Stewart played Mrs. Nordstrom, and Heather Ayers joined the cast.
Kevin Vortmann was the only swing not on. Heather Ayers isn't one. She's a temporary Desiree understudy/standby who comes and goes.
There was an insert welcoming her to the cast, that's all I can say.
Yes, because both Desiree understudies were out. They bring her in for special circumstances like that. She also covered for Jayne Paterson during CZJ's vacations.

Heather Ayers is a vacation cover. She covers Desiree when either the regular Desiree or one of the understudies is away. This week, Jayne is out, so Heather is standing by. She stood by during both of CZJ's vacations.
Alma Cuervo does the same thing as Madame Armfeldt- she's a vacation cover.
Neither of those women are permanent members of the company.
If muscle just wanted his opinion to be heard he wouldn't post aggressive titles like :Bernadette Peters is terribly miscast in Night Music".
And don't forget "Jan Maxwell is a diva for wanting to spend time with family" and "Good Job Cheno for getting someone fired".
