One of the reasons why The Goodbye Girl didn't ring true for me is that both Peters and Short seemed - even at that time - too old for the roles they were playing.

I recall a lot of excitement for LoveMusik (Hal Prince directing Michael Cerveris and Donna Murphy, book by Alfred Uhry). The show didn't last long.
