What a great post "be inspired". Like other fans have previously written, the talent of the youngsters in this production is out of this world… what a hard act to follow!
The idea of having a fans website is great… we can add allsorts of items. If any help is needed, please let me know.
I really wish that I could get my ticket for James and Ash’s last performance but I will be away on holiday for a couple of weeks – I’m hoping that you will all keep me posted on what the evening is like!

Does anyone have any news on Liam? Is he still unwell as I would like to send him a get well card if he is?James and George are carrying the show at the moment alternating and doing a brilliant job but surely they must be going beyond the alloted weekly hours allowed for child actors in the UK. I saw James again last night( 12th visit!) and he and Ashley turned in first rate performances once again but I cannot help feeling that James looked a little tired at times. George was 'back-up' Billy. It must be hard on Ryan (Liam's Michael) not getting on stage for such a long spell. Liam's Debbie I noted had a run out with James last Saturday night. If Liam is going to be off for a while maybe there is a case for bringing the new Billy on stream earlier or renewing James' contract for another month after September. Anyone with their ear to the ground or who has any news on Liam please post as we all miss him loads and would want wish him all the best for a speedy recovery if he is still unwell.
Great photo WEP – I can see the caption now… the early years of Billy Elliot! Keep em coming!
Alan, with regards to Liam, as far as I’m aware he’s doing absolutely fine and will be back performing in the show soon, maybe WEP is able to clarify this for us?
As for little Ryan, he in fact performed on Tuesday night so he’s not been missing out going on stage at all - he certainly got his fix playing the role of Michael, brilliant job :o)
Your concern about Liam is heartwarming. Any cards should be addressed to the Victoria Palace Theatre at Victoria Street, London, SW1E 5EA, United Kingdom. I'm sure they will be appreciated.
He has been at home for some time resting up under the tender care of his family.
Thanks West end Pro.I was at the show last night (Saturday) and another brilliant performance by George and Brad who I was pleased to speak to and get their autographs by the stage door afterwards. Thanks lads!! What nice kids they both are.The sold out audience loved them and was very responsive. I was very pleased to see Liam at the stage door as well as he had been back- up Billy and although looking a bit pale he was signing autographs and gave me the impression that hopefully he will be back with us soon.I think complete exhaustion caught up with the young lad as he does not seem to have the same level of mental resilience and boundless energy of George and James. Speaking to a cast member in the pub opposite I heard good reports as well of Leon ( the new Billy) who apparently looks very good in rehearsals.I will however send a card of good wishes to Liam on behalf of the 'front row gang', fans on this board, and regulars like myself.
Liam will probably be performing again within a short time, but he badly needed this extra time off. And Leon is indeed looking very promising. Updated On: 8/21/05 at 04:34 AM
Much appreciated comment West End Pro. We tend to forget that in addition to playing 'Billy', Liam has been going back to the Royal Ballet School every day for lessons and additional dance classes. The poor kid looked totally exhausted and no wonder. It is a huge mental and physical demand to make on any thirteen year old and Liam deserves our total respect and admiration for achieving what he has done so far. I do not know if he gets to read this message board but if you have personal contact West End Pro please pass on our affection and best wishes to Liam.
In reply to someone's earlier question, the boy on the far right in that picture is Leon, yes, the new Billy. Thankfully, Liam was back on last night performing, looking much more perky. I'm sure everyone involved in the production will be keeping an eye on him (and the other boys) to ensure they all remain healthy and happy.
Hi Just for the record George and Brad performed last night. I was there. Liam was the reserve. I agree however that he was looking perkier after the show so hopefully all is well. I hope the production team will be more mindful of the punishing schedules the Billy's have been through. I believe all of them have had to carry 3-4 performances on the trot and that is asking an awful lot considering that they in effect 'carry' the show given the amount of acting, dancing and singing they have to do.At the end of the day they are only young teenagers with the same finite physical limits like all of us.
