Billy Elliot The Musical
#1125Liam coming soon to the BBC!
Posted: 10/10/05 at 5:01pm
Hi All,
I've just got back from a long weekend away at Centre Parcs.
So much has been happening...
...Michael Jackson in the audience, the release date of the OCR being set with the possibility of Liam playing the part of Billy!
What's next?
I guess we are all still waiting to find out who is actually leaving the cast on December 3rd!
By the way, just to let you know that on the BBC at the start of next year there is going to be a four-part Saturday evening programme being aired called "The Sound of The Musicals" with stars of the West-end singing a number of songs from different shows! Liam was at one of these recordings with Tim Healy where they performed the song "Electricity!"

I don't get it....
I think "The Sound of The Musicals" was performed live on 6th October, and you said it will be on BBC next year.

I would love to see it, but could you tell me from where you get that news, as I am unable to find it, and found that link above, and also what BBC it will be on.

Posted: 10/10/05 at 5:32pmIt was performed then, but it was recorded so that it could be shown - probably on BBC two at the start of 2006.

In answer to your questionn w-tanoto, the recordings were all done LIVE over four days, but will be aired at the end of January / February time on BBC1, prime time on a Saturday night, I know this because I watched one of the recordings and we were told by the producers!
I saw the likes of Les Dennis, Ruthie Henshall, the two judges from Fame Academy and a young lad called Joseph MacManners to name just a few!
I wish I had the surprise of watching Liam and Tim though

Posted: 10/11/05 at 4:07amWhat a lovely scene, Grandma telling Billy what life was like with her husband, and in the background the company dancing with the chairs. She sings the story so well.

I was in the studio for the BBC's sound of musicals- and it wasnt live! Liam was superb although he did have to do his end sequence to electrity twice. thye also did We'd go dacning by grandma in the pre record. There were some good acts but the Billey Elliot cast stoodd out as top notch and just incredible. the crowd just loved laim as billy, he seemed a polite lovely lad. well done to him, and of corse the other cast members that were also there. as for the 3rd i have been told (by a reliable source) that Liam is perfomring oin the matinee and georrge in the eveing.

Charlotte, you gave me a dissapointing news. But thanks.... If you didn't tell me, perhaps I will miss liam's performance for eternity......I'm planning to buy the matinee ticket as well. (my target is liam mower), but I know I would not be dissapointed by george. I saw him once... and he has a wonderful singing voice. I haven't seen liam yet, and i'm planning to go tomorrow and hopefully there's no cast swap and I can get the ticket. Once I tried to see liam, there were cast swap and i ended up with leon

Posted: 10/11/05 at 1:56pmi think there will be tracks from each Billy on the ocr, but as bonus tracks from the other two boys. Also, they give all names as they either dont know or dont want to give away who the main billy will be - thats my thoughts anyways..

Posted: 10/11/05 at 4:09pmHi, havent been online for quite a bit. Just wanted to say that its great news that the OCR is comming soon, but i think it will be pretty sick if they only include 1 billy on it. All three of the originals worked very hard to get where they are, and only to include 1 of them would be well harsh on the other two. They should all get an equal share of tracks on the cd.

Posted: 10/12/05 at 2:55amWell, he is entitled to his opinion. It's just a shame that the obvious crush he has on Liam blinds him as to how good the others are also.
