"Next week, the stars of the NBC musical drama series will reunite virtually for a special one-night-only streaming event: Bombshell in Concert. The event will stream Wednesday, May 20 at 8 p.m. ET exclusively on PEOPLE.com, PeopleTV and PEOPLE social platforms.
The evening will be introduced by two-time Academy Award winner Renee Zellweger. During intermission, Julie Klausner will host a live reunion with the show's original cast members including Christian Borle, Jaime Cepero, Will Chase, Brian d'Arcy James, Jack Davenport, Ann Harada, Megan Hilty, Jeremy Jordan, Katharine McPhee, Andy Mientus, Debra Messing, Leslie Odom Jr., Krysta Rodriguez, and Wesley Taylor."
The event, announced by The Actors Fund in association with PEOPLE, features the never-seen sold-out live performance of Bombshell in Concert that electrified Broadway at the Minskoff Theater in New York City in 2015

Yes I was and it was an amazing night. The energy in the theater was incredible and seeing semi staged versions of the Bombshell show actually on stage was so cool. Made me realise tho how difficult it would be to actually stage Bombshell on Broadway - it’s so Marilyn heavy I really think they’d need to go down the one actress for Norma Jean and one for Marilyn route others have talked about. My highlights from the night were Let Me Be Your Star, Megan doing National Pasttime (which was way dirtier than in Smash lol) and Kat doing Public Relations. I don’t know what kind of recording they have - it didn’t seem to be being extensively filmed on the night, but it’s cool we all get to see it!
Not sure what Renée has to do with Smash and Bombshell but let’s not question it haha!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, sounds so amazing. Although the energy will be slightly different this time around (haha), I am so excited for this. Enjoy all!
I was there in 2015 for this magical reunion. It was the Monday following the Tony's, so it was a big party.
The costumes, full orchestra, backup chorus, and principles from SMASH made it a most exciting evening. They seemed to really enjoy revisiting the songs. New choreography was awesome, and the crowd went nuts for every single number. There were a few surprises along the way.

This revisit sounds like a great idea!"
The choreography was awesome, and you could tell everyone was having the best time (well except maybe Will Chase who just looked like he was just dialling it in lol). It was great that they had a lot of the original dancers from Smash in the concert too.
I’m not sure how feasible as a musical Bombshell would be, given you’d basically have to write a book covering Marilyn’s entire life, and you’d have to have really inventive sets and staging to pull that off (and it would def be expensive) but just a staged concert series in the format of this concert with maybe a few more props could probably do really well. And honestly, if you could get Megan and Kat to come back to do that I think it could be awesome. Sigh it’ll never happen but I can dream!
Megan, Katharine, Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman, Neil Meron and Bob Greenblatt are gonna be on “Stars in The House” tonight at 8, chatting all things Smash!
