I'm in NYC next week and of course Book of Mormon is sold out even for one ticket. I was wondering if anyone knew of their SRO policy? I did a few searches and came up empty.
They sell SRO one hour before showtime, but I would get on line well before that if you want a ticket. I got there a few minutes before 11 am last week and was second in line, but that was before the reviews.
There were people lined up almost four hours before the other day.
Yeah, there's more SRO tickets to sell now that the show is officially opened, but as Jordan said, people line up for SRO way before lottery time. Bring a book.

Thanks. Maybe I'll get luck and a cancellation will come through. If not at least I've got many other choices to see.
Does anyone know how many they sell? Also, I've read it's one per person, and I've also read 2 per person. Anyone know for sure? thanks.

It was 2 per person last week, but apparently, lots of things about it are subject to change, so who knows.
For what it's worth, I went last Wednesday night (final preview) at 5:00, was 6th on line, and got a standing room ticket. The view is great and it's well worth $27.You can also enter the lottery while waiting for standing room, if you get someone to hold your spot on line. Apparently, though, standing room has gotten harder, so perhaps my 2 hours early wouldn't be sufficient anymore. If you can get standing room, try to get close to spots 108/109. That's the center. Good luck!

Try your luck at the box office for single tickets. Sometimes they are available there but not through other sources.
how early do they start selling SRO?? At 10am when the box office opens??
just a heads up about their lotto/SRO. Tried it last night and there was a good 200 people there for lotto. I, of course, lost and went inside to line-up for SRO only to be told the line for SRO formed by the outside box office window. Not sure why they make everyone wait until 6:00 to sell them, but I just missed out on getting a spot. maybe another time.
ended up getting SRO to "How to Succeed.." instead.
The line has been outside the box office since the second week. And to be honest, unless you get there before lottery you probably won't get a ticket. I've been arriving 3 hours before they sell them to be safe.

hey everyone. A few q's:
- where are SRO 'seats' (i.e. back of orch or balc?)
- are SRO's always available?
- how much are they?
Thanks!

Back Orch
$27 each
Sold when the show is sold out (Atleast thats how SRO has always been sold Mormon may have changed it IDK bout policy)
As the show is sold out until May, SRO tickets have been available for every performance.
SRO tickets, as mentioned, go on sale an hour before curtain at the outside ticket window.
There are about 14-16 standing spots.
well, according to the grosses and by doing the math there seems to now be 26 SRO spots.
There are absolutely not 26 standing room spots- at least, not as of last Wednesday.
I'm a bit curious how that math works- factoring in the lottery seats, already sold discounted seats, and things of that nature.
It has nothing to do with discounted tickets. I haven't done the math myself, but I'm betting ACL got the seating capacity from the grosses (which does not include standing room) and then multiplied by the attendance percentage to get 26 standing room spots.
Actually, I just went to do the math myself and it's even easier than that. BWW grosses reports a maximum weekly seating capacity of 8,528 and the number of sold seats as 8,736. That means they sold 208 more tickets than they had seats. Divide that by 8 performances, and that's 26 SRO spots per performance.
It's possible that obstructed views are not included in the capacity (I know some small theaters don't really count them), so it might be closer to 20 SRO spots.

I was "20" which is the last SRO "seat" right by the doors. Assuming that means there are 10 on that side of the house (even numbered) and another 18 in the center (I thought I saw the last numbered middle section SRO "seat" was 11
that would be 28. I think the odd side has less. So maybe between 28 and 38?

I remember that the person in front of me in the SRO line asked how many there were that day and the box office guy just gave him a dirty look and didn't answer...I think I heard 24 later, though.
