I can't reveal my sources, but I have on good authority that THE ADDAMS FAMILY is "soooooo good. beebe and nathan make me LOL. one of the greatets thing ive evr seen on Broadway" -- and that was just during intermission!

I don't know about you, but I'm buying my tickets now.

Grow up MiracleElixir. Theoretically, you're at least in your early 20s -- this is just childish.

You've already had your little hissy fight with rOcKS in the existing "La Cage" thread and your insistence that there is nothing redeeming in "The Addams Family" is more than clear. Surely you have better ways to spend your time than to now start a brand new thread that is solely designed to mock rOcKS even further (whether or not I agree with his decision to post about the text from his friend seeing "La Cage") and/or to stir up more negativity from the rest of the haters about Addams.

And if you don't have better ways to spend your time other than being mocking and snarky, use this as an opportunity to find one.

I don't know what you're talking about, I just got a text and thought people might be curious about it...

(and yes, starting this thread took SO much of my time -- been planning it for days, really)

You are the only one who finds this funny. I am glad that rocks posted the little second hand review. Who cares if it's from their friend or not, it's still a review. You are the one who wants to make it all about yourself. Grow up.

Glad we have the middle-schooler's opinion on what everyone does and does not find funny. And you're missing the point, little kid.

I don't care if said text is from his fellow Broadway twink friend or a seasoned veteran of the stage and screen. There's already debate about whether it's really fair/appropriate to review something based off of a first preview (though inexplicably, those arguments really only come up when the reactions are negative), but now we're posting "My friend texted ______!" as some sort of revelation or contribution to the conversation/dialogue on a new piece of theatre? Ridiculous.

I totally get the rationale of sticking up for the picked-upon, whatever -- but let's not pretend that anyone really cares about what his random, anonymous friend (or any of our friends) texted about a show, let alone after a first preview.

Well, I just don't think it is fair to question the friends credibility. How is it any different than posting on this board, than just relaying a text message...I do not understand your fuss. They were simply sharing that their friend had a good time and thought it was really good.

P.S It is to early for this.........

No one agrees with you, Miracle Elixir.

This board exists to share each other's enthusiasm, and that includes essays, reviews, blogs, tweets, text messages and tom-toms.

On a message board like this, whenever you ask the question "Who cares...?" you've already lost the debate. Because all it takes for your nasty negativity to be disproven is one voice saying "I care."

Rather than start a thread to belittle someone else's enthusiasm, why don't you start a thread expressing your own?

Or are you afraid someone will attack you the way you attack?

This is remarkably petty and bitchy, even for this board. I have a lot more problems with people doing stuff like this on here than I do with second hand comments being posted about shows.

While we're not pretending...let's also not pretend that anyone cares what you think of rOcKS's decision to post his friend's text.

I don't know rOcKS, couldn't consider myself his friend, and indeed, probably disagree with his opinion on shows more often than I agree. That's not the point. The point is that by insisting on starting a brand new thread just to be insulting and condescending to another person, you go from being another opinionated theatre fan who warrants some measure of respect whether one agrees or disagrees with his opinion to being just a nasty jerk.

1. I'm not in middle school
2. Don't use my age aginst me
3. In this situation, I'm not the kid
4. Accept that you've lost this argument
5. Many people care what Rocks' friend thinks, He or she is a person just like you and me who has valid opinions.

I've seen many people post their friends' reactions to shows on this board. There's nothing wrong with it. I'm sure Rocks would contribute his own opinion had he been there, but in the meantime he relayed a positive reaction.

Your personal attacks are childish. His "fellow Broadway twink friends"? Grow up.

Whether sincere or sarcastic, it doesn't matter to me since I had a GREAT TIME at the show! It's not landmark theatre, but I grinned, I laughed and I wasn't bored. My only quibble was the forgettable music, but seriously, I would be happy to be able to afford to see it again.

ZING

"starting a brand new thread just to be insulting and condescending to another person, you go from being another opinionated theatre fan who warrants some measure of respect whether one agrees or disagrees with his opinion to being just a nasty jerk."

Yeah, pretty much. Someone did something stupid and I made fun of them. I'm a bitch, I realize it. But in my (mild) defense, I didn't call them out or specifically cite who they were. You folks did that.

"lost the argument"? "Pathetic"?

This isn't a back-and-forth or raging furious argument, or me trying to prove a legitimate point. Bitchy? Sure. But please explain how it's "pathetic"?

"Many people care what Rocks' friend thinks, He or she is a person just like you and me who has valid opinions."

Come on, this is just stupid (and again, your age IS a factor in the conversation when you show it so blatantly and don't understand what someone is saying). Never did I say his friend is unworthy of having an opinion -- what I said was, that's besides the point. Posting "my friend texted/tweeted that it's good!" is such a non-entity free of substance that why post anything at all?

"Personal attacks"?

I don't know WickedRocks at all. I don't know what his name is, how old he is, what he looks like, whatever. Based on his opinions, manner of writing, his finding "Red" boring, and having "Wicked Rocks" as his handle on here, I made an assumption.

"Rather than start a thread to belittle someone else's enthusiasm, why don't you start a thread expressing your own?"

Actually, I've posted reactions/reviews to a number of shows when I've felt moved to (I had pretty lengthy visceral reactions to "Billy Elliot," "Next to Normal," "The Starry Messenger" to name a few). And for the record, I would never attack someone for their enthusiasm. If WickedRocks posted an ejaculatory response to LA CAGE, you'd hear nary a peep.

I think THE ADDAMS FAMILY is one of the most wretched pieces of crap I've ever seen on Broadway, but I've not torn down any of the folks who've liked it. Everyone's entitled to an opinion. And you know what? Everyone's entitled to share a random, anonymous friend's text message or tweet. But that doesn't mean it's not stupid and I can't say as much.

This is hilarious. But for all the wrong reasons. No one is laughing with you. Everyone is laughing at you. Because this is pathetic. Even for BWW.

But it IS entertaining to see you try to defend yourself when no one agrees with you ,so be my guest an continue to act like a six year old.

And for the record, I only know one person in this thread personally. So they're not all my "friends" defending me. They just think you're making yourself look like an idiot. It has nothing to do with ME and everything to do with you and the way you're making yourself look. But if you think this is one big conspiracy theory against you and everyone in this thread are my best friends, you're giving yourself way too much credit. No one cares that much. Except you, apparently.

Not defending myself, just responding. All I did was make fun of you, and there's no real defense of that -- other than that it makes me giggle. All I defended was that people are sticking up for poor little you, when I never even cited your name; lil' DrunkChitaRivera did that. My original post was hardly a scathing attack.

Personally, whether you agree with me or not (and obviously, it appears almost no one does), I think I responded accordingly and rationally explained myself, so I don't think I'm really acting like a six-year-old (a somewhat immature, catty twenty-four-year-old? Guilty.), but whatever you say.

But yeah, totally glad you're finding it hilarious. :)

Couldn't agree more with PJ. And I was glad to read about Rocks' friend's comments about LA CAGE since we all had been wanting to read some news about the show. What an obnoxious thread.
