Their headline certainly contradicts itself. How can Julie Taymor be out if the article states that she is going to continue in the day-to-day operations?

She is titled as still part of the production, while really her work will be limited. They did not want to give her up completely, just take away control.

Who in their right mind is going to buy tickets to see this knowing that "the final, new and improved version" won't be seen until 3 months from now-except for tourists who can go home and say that they saw it. The producers are finally admitting that the show is drek. It is a crime that they are charging full price for a show that is going to take 7 months to officially open......Yeah I can just see Julie sitting in the house while the new circus director takes over- HA! Their first meeting should be loads of fun. Can't wait for the reports of screaming matches. How many more millions are the producers going to flush down the toilet on this next go around?

I actually now want to see it before it closes and after it closes. I have been wanting to rush it. I am not going to pay full price. I think they should lower preview prices now. Just for me. :)

It's theatrical spin for the fact that she A, can't be let out of her contract but they sure can bring in another director while leaving her name on the project or B, theatrical spin to make an extremely negative thing positive in the press. They'd be stupid to say they fired the creative genius behind the show if it magically became a hit. Think of the lawsuits Taymor could throw at them if any of her ideas became a part of a hit show that removed her above the title name.

So it's going to re-open in 3-5 weeks with a new book and a new director... doesn't that technically make it it's own revival?

Taymor did workshops, went into rehearsals and paid preview performances without an ending of the show, lost technical control while several injuries occured and refused any critical help for months and now her schedule prohibits her day to day participation?
