I DESPISE Vanessa Williams. In everything. She was the only down side to Sondheim on Sondheim.

Also, I can't stand Daphne Rubin-Vega.

I love Nathan Lane. He is the reason I got into theatre and acting when I was 10. He's always been my favorite.

I absolutely can't stand Ruthie Henshall. I just do not get the love for her and the way she sings through her teeth. Makes me cringe, I just can't watch/listen to her.

chewy 5000, you think Hugh Jackman is overrated? Just wondering, what is your opinion based on? Did you see The Boy From Oz either on Broadway or in Australia?

Or is this based on the "Tall Poppy Syndrome"? Because Mr. Jackman is one of the nicest people in show business, and a
great talent, IMO.

Seriously. The not-so-inner crazed fanboy in me doesn't understand people who can't stand LuPone. I feel like they dislike her just to be contrarian or something. I'm not saying she doesn't have her off moments/shows/performances what have you, but she's a force of nature and she gives me goosebumps. Every time.

Love: Harvey in Fiddler (he's polarizing and so was the opinion of that performance), Matthew Morrison (the only Link Larkin that I ever liked), and Laura Bell Bundy

Can't Stand: Sutton Foster, Hunter Foster, Patrick Wilson, Anthony Rapp, Matthew Broderick in The Producers (I found him dull), and Norbert Leo Butz

Victoria Clark an untalented, condescending MEAN woman, Joey? I'm with givesmevoice here. Surely you must be talking about another Victoria Clark or trolling?

I've done several shows with her, though I don't know her personally, and she is hands down one of the sweetest and most considerate performers I have ever worked with. I have never heard her catagorized as you have. I also can't see how the quality of her singing voice can possibly be in question, whatever you may think of her acting I happen to think she's an extraordinarily talented comedic actress and her dramatic acting ain't too shabby either.

I can't think of any performers that I can't stand. I'm not terribly fond of Nathan Lane when he plays Nathan Lane instead of the character he's supposed to be, but his talent is undeniable. Love Charlotte d'Amboise's quirkiness.

There are not a lot of people I can't stand except for maybe Anneliese Van Der Pol. She's a jerk. And I love a lot of people, including a lot of people mentioned on here

Victoria Clark characterized as "mean" is one of the funnier things that has been posted on this site in recent weeks. What, did she give you constructive criticism that huwt oo during a master class?


I have been disappointed by the greats and dazzled by folks I have written off. I have my prejudices but really, its best to take things performance by performance. If you don't, you're just a VERY poor man's M*****l R****l.

I love Betty Buckley, who has more than her share of folks who can't stand her. I have one friend who can't stand Barbara Cook - but is there anyone else on earth who doesn't love her (maybe one or two)?

There are many Broadway gods and goddesses that I'm not a huge fan of, but can't think of one I can't stand or can't say he/she hasn't done something I see value in.

There was a time I held George Hearn to be the affected version of Len Cariou, but I had a big change of heart when I saw him as Sweeney in concert with Lupone.

I've seen Lupone on occasion give bad performances, some disappointing ones, and many outstanding ones. I think those who can't stand her have probably only seen her at her worst. Throughout her early-mid career she was a very uneven performer, masking the fact that she is a marvelous actress and singer. BTW the one time I met her and had the chance to spend some time with her, she impressed me as the polar opposite of her diva image, very kind, genuine, generous and down to earth.

There are countless musicals I can't stand that people LOVE but that's another story.

I'm not a huge Audra McDonald fan. I think her voice is incredible and she has great stage presence, but I'm not sure I think she's a great actor. It's not that I can't stand her, but I do feel like I'm the only one who doesn't worship at her feet.

And my active dislike of Bernadette Peters is pretty obvious, I think.
