Good thing, too, because now that the Holiday Season is over those grosses will go down, down, down.

You go Chicago! 8 years later, It's still hotter and more successful than the new Broadway fluff.. *cough* (Brooklyn).

I'm really glad Brooklyn went up, but it needed to be way higher because it is going to get lower and lower in Jan and Feb. re: Broadway Grosses Dec. 27th - Jan. 2nd

wow beauty and the beast is still going on strong.

A dancer might dream to see her name in lights and mean it, but all she really dreams is to make someone else feel the way she did when she first saw a dancer. And that is so beautiful-Anonymous

The week between Xmas and New Years is the single busiest of the year for Broadway. Check out the numbers in a week or two to get a more realistic sense of how some of the shows are doing and what their long-term prognosis will be.

Not to hate, Tiny-Toon, but $435,176 and 68.2% attendance for a holiday week is POWERFULLY low. In fact BROOKLYN is the second-lowest grossing musical this week after PACIFIC OVERTURES. With figures like that I'd be shocked if this show was still around by the time the Tony nominations go out.

Well, while Pacific Overtures may have grossed less than Brooklyn, that is no indication of how they are doing because Roundabout is non-profit and therefore a little less expensive. So:

Pacific Overtures~91.6%
Brooklyn~68.2%

Just so the post by 'CastAlbumFan' won't be misleading. re: Broadway Grosses Dec. 27th - Jan. 2nd

Brooklyn's weekly cost is one of the lowest on Broadway, about $250,000
So, for Brooklyn - $435,176 is great! (Highest ever..)

Remember when Brooklyn had 97% attn. but only $414,000?

Margo's completely right. It's worth mentioning that the family that sat next to me at Gem of the Ocean last week only came there because those were the last tickets available (I'm presuming at the TKTS booth). It was that kind of week. The lean months are coming now, and shows need to survive them to get through to Tony time.

I might actually get to see Pacific Overtures. How much is student rush, and when does it close? I'm going to try and get someone to let me go.

Unless it gets extended (slim chance), it will close January 30.

I couldn't possibly recommend it more.

Just to add, a large chunk of Pacific Overtures' weekly gross is made up of subscriber seats. I'm a Roundabout subscriber and I went last week -- my front mezz seat only cost me about $50 (instead of $91.25). If lots of my fellow Roundabout members also went last week (and there were probably hundreds -- Roundabout has approx 50,000+ subscribers it has to work into the show's 12 week run), then of course the overall weekly gross is going to be lower than a commercial "for profit" show in a similarly-sized house.

It's great for shows, such as Fiddler on the Roof, Beauty and the Beast, and 42nd Street, that got really high percentages and normally did not reach that high.

I don't know if Rent pulled in the most money (have to go back and check), but I think it had the highest percentage of sales. re: Broadway Grosses Dec. 27th - Jan. 2nd
