Bad reviews/word of mouth catching up to Charlie...

Bringing back porter and stark is proving to be a success and nice to 1984 to be up for one of its final weeks.

Is it? Sure, their grosses went up, but it is their first week back. I’d wait a month at least before saying it’s proving successful.

Fascinating that, just as with last year, Beautiful is doing better than it did in the summer. Still not sure why, but to those predicting its demise, not for another year, unless trend reverses.

Is there a reason WICKED is lower % wise than usual?

The difference is School of Rock has recouped it's investment. So they can withstand the ups and downs as long as the peaks meet the weekly operating cost. Charlie looks in rough shape and probably is hoping to make it through the holidays and then announce a tour. I think I read when they opened that the set was designed for touring purposes

Had you not mentioned this, I wouldn't have even noticed that. Now that you said it, I realize I've seen a lot of Wicked ads lately

I'm sure they're fine. The Gershwin is a huge theatre - and if they're seriously moving foward on the movie, that will refresh audience sales for the stage version much like the Phantom film did for Phantom on broadway and London

Yeah that's the trade off... many of these shows don't want to go near that until it's absolutely necessary so as not to give the impression that it's not still a "hot ticket". Come winter and throw a snow storm or two in and ticket sales tumble, that usually gets a lot of producers to just go for ti - at least temporarily. But the above point about Harry Potter and Frozen coming (along with Anastasia continuing, although that's slowed down a bit) shows a lot of competition coming up

These numbers for WICKED are nearly identical to their numbers from last September, a notoriously tough time for any show on Broadway. It's doing perfectly fine.
