I really think this whole Blonde thing is going to pay off. I know people where saying stuff about how it'll be on youtube. But I've heard AEA is about to SERIOUSLY cut down on that type of stuff.

I totally agree that the MTV stunt will give LB a good boost. It will help the Holiday Season at least.
Okay and I have to say it. Yeah! Drowsy! Hang in there Xandu. I think they will both do better this Holiday Season. Thanks for supporting these great shows.
Color Purple is starting it's tour so that may slow down sales a little bit. At least more people will be able to see the show.

How did YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN do?
Oh wait I forgot, Mel is taking away some of our fun.

Who would have thought that David Hyde Pierce's absence would cause a $200,000 dip?! I didn't realize that that many people would know that they could check that in advance.

I don't know, we get a lot of PR here. Mel is probably doing better than he really should be.
It's tough though about DHP but I love him so some of this makes sense. They should go to see Debra Monk though! She looks awesome!

At $550,000 and without its Tony-winning star, Curtains STILL had a better week than most of the run of The Wedding Singer.
In other news, Variety estimates a net gross of approximately $875,000 for four previews of Young Frankenstein, with an average ticket price of $205.
"Monster box office boost
'Frankenstein' scares up $875,000
By GORDON COX
Legiters don't know exactly how much of a boost "Young Frankenstein" gave the Broadway cume last week -- but it was a big one.
Although "Frankenstein" producers Mel Brooks and Robert F.X. Sillerman have decided not to report sales figures for their big-budget new tuner, a combination of digging and number-crunching yielded an estimated box office tally of about $875,000.
That's net gross for an abbreviated week of four previews. The monster sum lands "Frankenstein" in the No. 6 spot in the top 10, and pushes the show's average ticket price up to about $205. (A cluster of "Frank" seats carry a premier pricetag of $450, while another chunk sell for $375.)

I can't say I didn't expect Rent to drop a bit, but... ouch.
On the other hand, go Drowsy!

Posted: 10/15/07 at 10:28pmOf course I expected it, but the RENT figures make me sad. Oh well. It was low before the return of AA and stayed open (*she said hopefully*)

UCJR -
Actors equity is cutting back alot already. I know on Youtube 4 months ago I would be able to find a lot more videos than I can now - now it is mostly the TV clips which are legal so they can't take them down.....unfortunatley they seem to be taking the protection of their members a little far - I had up a number of clips from a dinner theatre I worked at where there were no equity performers being shown, and AEA took down 10 out of the 11 I had posted.
i dont want to get into a debate on whether I should have them up or not, because I didn't have a liscense - BUT if AEA is taking it off to protect their members they are over stepping the bounds.
