NICE WORK grossed more than both NEWSIES and ONCE. Wow.
Wow. -11.6% for ENEMY. Good that no one suffered a loss in gross though.
I figured the major drop in attendance for An Enemy of the People was due to all of the comps the week before, it's opening week.
Congrats to Nice Work!!! The best show on B'way right now.
Great starts for both Annie and The Heiress!
Totally thrilled for "Nice Work"...well deserved and a bit of satisfaction for this production that received sneers early on and is now laughing it's way towards recoupment.
Wow for Nice Work! What a great week! Wicked didn't sell 9 potential seats and Newsies 10 (but they have standing room, yadda yadda). Suprised how good it was! And what's happening over at Chicago??
do people only bother to go to the theatre then in autumn?
And the Mormons sold 102.6% of their seats. I'm assuming that 2.6% was SRO?
solid numbers all around. good to see Chaplin with decent numbers, too.

"do people only bother to go to the theatre then in autumn?"
October through mid-December is convention and trade show season where every week tens of thousands of conventioneers and buyers descend in Manhattan. Every hotel is at or near capacity. In the evening after a long day of boring meetings or sore feet from walking though hundreds of vendor booths at the Javits Center they want to go relax at the theater.

And this week is Comic Con! SPIDERMAN will probably see a big increase in grosses in next week's report.
@ bobs3, what a shame then for fabulous productions on in summer that had to close early. I see now, autumn productions are going to be more popular...i.e... Tony's then

Congratulations to "Chicago"!! from RC in Austin, Texas
Oh, why not? People piss all over Chicago around here, but $729,000+ in year 15 is pretty remarkable. Good for them.
Yes....really, it's necessary. Thanks Smaxie! Many ,many musicals have come and gone since the current "Chicago" revival began......and it's still going strong. THAT is something worth celebrating and congratulating! from RC in Austin, Texas
