Overall a good week. Happy for Great Comet and A Bronx Tale's numbers, concerned for In Transit though.

Not a strong start for in transit.

Yay Rotten!!! Really hoping it goes out with a bang.
And...yikes. Could In Transit be done by New Year's? How terribly anemic, even with only five performances under their belt.

The $57 average ticket price is not a good sign.

I have to say...13 years on Broadway and WICKED still sold 99.8% capacity this past week! Impressive.

In Transit played to good capacity, so I guess they just gave out a TON of comps, probably to get the word of mouth going? Maybe it'll succeed...
So happy Kristin grossed over $1m in only 6 shows, so good!

Surprised by Kristen's #!!! Good for her! Too bad they can't extend her through the holidays!

I'm glad A Bronx Tale is pulling decent numbers. I'll admit I was skeptical of how it would perform, but I'm glad to be proven wrong as it's nice not to be rushed to see it before that dreaded first week or two of January with how jam packed this fall is.

Is Papermill a producer on Broadway for A Bronx Tale or Bandstand?

Also, does anyone know if the Longacre has space for standing room? It looks like A Bronx Tale is coming close to selling out a lot of its weekend performances.

What kind of attendance does Wicked have to have to be profitable? For them to be up 13% means they were in the low 80's. Is it time to shut it down?

Even so, they still made $1.4 million last week and $1.7 million this week.

Asked a question, sorry I'm not informed as to the break even point and when the movie comes, 83% at the Gershwin sounds lame.

Guess Todrick Hall is bringing in his fans for KINKY BOOTS. Two great weeks for them since he joined.

The show netted a million dollars last week. Now you are informed, and now perhaps you can understand why people scoff at your suggestion. If that's lame, I'll happily take lame every week.

even if Wicked drops severely in the grosses for a period of time, they have UNIVERSAL STUDIOS as an investor/producer LOL.

Definitely not orchestra level. There's space at the back of the balcony for sure, and maybe the mezz but my memory is hazy. I don't know that they've used it before as SRO?

In terms of being profitable, it doesn't matter so much to what capacity they are playing, but more how much money they are making. I don't think they have ever made less than $1mil, and as long as that's the case they have absolutely nothing to worry about.
The other thing with Wicked is, that is has made its investment back (a LONG time ago), so they only have to worry about bringing in their weekly nut in order to keep the show running. Sure, it's a biggish cast but still... Massive shows might cost up to $800k (please correct me if I'm wrong), so even in their lower-grossing weeks, they are WELL above that high estimate. They don't have any stars in the show most of the time, so it might well be lower, despite the large cast.
The next thing is, even if they were to play a week that's only on the order of their weekly nut, it doesn't matter as long as they are just exceptions. The show has made SO much money over the years, they can totally balance it out. It's still selling out during the summer and the holidays, and playing to over 90% capacity most other weeks.
That all goes to say: Wicked is not closing anytime soon.

Even at 83%, Wicked is still selling on average 1600 seats a show and they're making a profit even in the low weeks, Most shows unless they're the top five shows would kill for the sort of numbers Wicked makes.

suffice it to say we can expect Wicked to be around for a long time
