Wow: Hamilton, Wicked, Aladdin, Mormon & Lion King. Not surprising it's those shows, but those are great numbers.

Not surprised to see FN back up there since MM said he's leaving. The Gin Game makes me sad.

So allegiance looks like it's going to stay open past Sunday? They would have to tell the cast tomorrow if they were closing correct?
Only asking cause I've been meaning to see it but I like to avoid going to shows during this time of year.

How can a show be at 138 percent of their capacity?

My biggest surprise of the week is that Spring Awakening wasn't able to manage any semblance of a bump even in this frame. My only sadness about Gin Game is that some producer thought this was anything. Surely there are more intriguing ways of employing these two actors.

Joe...go see it. I enjoyed it very much. Chicago's gross potential numbers are great. I'm very much looking forward to seeing "Dames at Sea" tonite. Note: For those who are in the habit of using abbreviations, not everyone speaks your language. Just saying....

Agreed on both counts. I'm surprised to see Spring had no traction with the holiday crowds, when almost every other musical did.

Finding Neverland and Matthew Morrison....both have been around for quite a while. Doesn't take a brain trust.

Phantom's gross jumped more than 13 shows were able to gross on their own.

Jorge and NeonLights, I think y'all are looking at different numbers. Yes, Neon is correct in that standing room accounts for 100%+ numbers, but not necessarily in gross potential; rather, for attendance percentages. Hamilton, for instance, saw a 102.6% capacity (as usual) because it filled its standing room in addition to all of the Rodgers' seats. The show's 138% gross potential, though, is more directly attributable to premium-priced tickets up the wazoo. You both clearly understand the principle—just wanted to make sure the terminology was clear across the board ![]()

I was at SA last night and orch was almost full, not sure about upstairs. It's a shame that it wasn't marketed properly bc I had no idea what I was in for but I thought it was better than the original. The whole marketing team should be fired

BroadwayConcierge, he specifically said "capacity." That's what I was responding to. I'm well aware of how gross potential works.

I could very well be mistaken but does the lottery not also add to the capacity?

Even when only counting 7 performances last week, Fiddler, Neverland and Matilda still made the million dollar club. Next week should be amazing for them since they will disclose 9.

It doesn't seem like all that long ago we were in awe of shows grossing ONE million...sheesh. That's a lot of money.

Really interested to see what happens to finding never land once matthew Morrison leaves. Part of me feels like the grosses will drop by 1/3.

I like MM in the role every bit as much as JJ, so no sour grapes. I don't think his exit date has anything to do with MM leaving; it is a show that appeals to families on a holiday week. In other posts, people have suggested that FN will close in June. My view is that, if it makes it to June -- which I bet it will -- it will last to September, because it will be a good family audience target next summer too.

I think I was most surprised at Something Rotten. In a spectacular week, it only did 68% of capacity. I assume the second balcony has been empty.
Comments in another topic previously pointed to AAIP's empty second balcony, given the disparity between its grosses and percent of occupancy. Makes me wonder whether -- unless the show is a smash hit, e.g., Aladdin -- the producers should lower the prices for second balcony to, say, $15, in order to fill them up. I assume people would take advantage, but I could certainly be wrong. Would school groups come to see those two shows??

Though safely in the million dollar club, it's notable that the numbers for On Your Feet are down two weeks running - especially during the holiday season when everyone else's are up. The verdict is still out on whether word-of-mouth will be strong enough to sustain this show.

I don't think the price point if $15, but it is an interesting question. I'm sure some would be concerned that there would be an upward migration which would be self defeating. I would assume they are trawling the group market for possible arrangements but it is also worth remembering that selling a hundred tickets at $15 produces a lot more work than selling 10 at $150. And there is a very linear expense in opening the balcony.
