These are the times when I miss the "% of gross potential" number that used to be included. While it wasn't the most helpful number in that most people didn't really understand it's impact on the shows' financials, it would help put these "jumps" in grosses into a better context when you could point out that when factoring in the extra performances it was not actually an improvement over the previous week.

It's no longer included because it was a fake metric in many respects. Since the advent of dynamic pricing, shows started taking to manipulating their gross potential to make it look better when the grosses came out. Some would even comp out unsold seats to fudge a 100% capacity. (Lookin' at you, Harry Potter). Pre-pandemic, people took a lot more stock in the grosses week to week.
