I fully admit to being one of those people who thought Hadestown was on death's door multiple times. But I'm super impressed how the show has become a little Chicago with its stunt-casting replacements. It's proven to be more versatile of a show than I thought. I don't think it will turn into a Chicago-type run of course but it has some smart producers who have extended the show's run with some creative choices.

One thing I have noticed about Hadestown is that it almost always comes very close to selling out all its seats, week after week, even when ticket prices haven’t been terribly high. The Walter Kerr is a small theater, of course, but some shows just run out of steam. The musical has kept chugging along.
Is this unusual? Is there a show that seems analogous in recent years?
I'm not one to agree with Broadway Flash 99.999% of the time, but I did walk into another show with one of Hadestown's producers early last year where we discussed their possible upcoming closure in light of sales.
Of course, they are still running, so the decision to close did not happen, and they began casting some "notable" folks.
But, I myself had a conversation with a producer about it. That is all I want to offer here.
Yes everything I say here comes from reliable sources. Whether or not plans change, that’s a different story.
You have no sources.

When you're right, you're right, and when you're wrong, well you WERE right, but plans changed. Am I understanding this correctly? As an outsider, how is that helpful? I can say the same thing after all whenever I'm wrong. It's an empty claim.
It is true that in this industry things can make it far past discussion and into planning stages and then never come to pass, for whatever reason. Things can change very quickly!
It’s just BroadwayFlash has yet to be provably right about much of anything so there’s no reason to extend benefit of the doubt.
