Obvious and expected dip across the board, particularly for family-friendly shows of the likes of Matilda.

But Finding Neverland... OUCH.

Happy to see The Humans climbing a bit this week- hopefully the raves are helping.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Ouch, Disaster.

A lot of shows look like they're in trouble. Hope things pick up for Something Rotten and Curious Incident in particular.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

Why would this week br poor for grosses? Am I forgetting something? Was it the Oscars? That wouldn't affect anything because most shows only have a Saturday matinee.

I appoligise for any spelling mistakes. I may be on my mobile. Clumsy fingers and small little touchscreen keys don't mixx. I try to spellcheck, but I may miss something.

It just seemed really low, but I guess the winter is a bad thing. I wonder why the mild weather didn't alleviate it.

It's a slow time of year for tourism. A few warm days doesn't matter. Every year this happens.

But why was it so much worse than the previous week which was also in February? Was the previous week part of a mid-winter break for schools or some such? The grosses on their own aren't necessarily shocking (although: yikes, Finding Neverland), but I'm surprised by the size of the week to week shift.

What else would be helping? Certainly not the stinking stinking-up-the-bathroom play itself!

The critics just keep doing what they do so well: sticking it to the public.

I would actually venture to guess that the warmer weather this past week hurt grosses even more. Precedence demonstrates that nobody plans on going to the theatre in February—so when the weather is surprisingly warm, then, no one says, "Ooh! Let's go sit in a Broadway theatre for 3 hours!" They go and do other things.

First of all, I don't know what this "warmer weather" thing is about because I haven't been feeling it aside from last Saturday. A lot of schools were on break last week and apparently there were a lot of tourists coming in too for some kind of break/vacation. I can't remember if the person I talked to said they were European or Asian tourists but apparently there was a big influx of prospective ticket buyers.

Darn, "Chicago's" grosses were really rough. I guess Eddie George didn't bring in as many people as the producers had hoped for. Still, the improved weather in the coming weeks will surely bring in an improvement in the box office. Plus, Jason Danieley is fantastic as Billy Flynn. He's top notch!

the next few weeks might make or break some shows until the two weeks for Spring break arrives. We shall see if any shows announce/post closing notices in March.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

YES..if you look at the group, the top 3 losses were for Neverland, Matilda and School of Rock (which are somewhat associated as "kid shows" ) because last week was a school holiday for lots of schools. It was a bad week period....
