Okay, so it appears my brain saw Gypsy while looking at Hadestown’s gross. Therefore I rescind my previous remark.

But yikes, I forget how unnecessarily prickly someone of y’all get.

Um, but the high priced big name shows are doing pretty amazing business.

It should also be noted that NYC was packed this weekend. After Smash's matinee was cancelled, me and my friend bounced around to a few theaters to see who had tickets as the offerings at TKTS were limited. The Outsiders, Operation Mincemeat and Oh, Mary! were soldout. Landed the last two SRO tickets for Death Becomes Her, which ended up being soldout.

A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

It’ll be interesting to see if GYPSY can run longer than the Patti revival. The recession was a big factor there (and could be again here). I know a lot of people who have or had tickets to see it in these first few months and aren’t exactly…recommending it to others.

I'm curious to see how many shows will struggle this summer without tourists coming in. It'll be sad to see so many shows close up by Labor Day.
