KINKY BOOTS and SCHOOL OF ROCK are probably still making money at ~ $760K, but I wonder what their future ticket sales look like? Same with BRONX TALE.

Come springtime... do we think JAGGED LITTLE PILL/HADESTOWN to the Longacre/Kerr, and CRAZY FOR YOU/MOULIN ROUGE to the Hirschfeld/Winter Garden?

NEWSIES was designed to be sent out on tour which is why it closed when it did despite still making money at the time.

Wonder if Timbers wants the Winter Garden for Moulin? 

Also, Newsies, as far as I know, used the Broadway set. 

And the Hello Dolly set wouldn't be that difficult to transfer into a touring aspect. I wonder how much of it they will keep the same. I'd love to know how they store all that and how it all works. There are so many large set pieces, and yet not a ton of wing space, etc.

But NEWSIES wasn't designed to come to Broadway –– the Papermill production was supposed to launch the show for licensing and a possible tour (like what Disney did with High School Musical and later Hunchback). 

I cannot imagine Santo Loquasto's luxurious DOLLY set was designed to tour in the way that it's built for Broadway.

omg this thead.

broadway sets don't tour, and no show closes so a set can be used (esp not to save $). That's not how it works. 

prime real estate is not deployed to break even. 

and other things I would not have thought would need explanation. again.

Basic question that I'm sure has been asked a thousand times here, but I'm having trouble finding the answer with a search so I'm hoping a kind soul can give me a quick explanation: how are shows selling more seats than exist in the theatre to give them >100%? Is it standing room?

Thought I read somewhere that Moulin Rouge wasn't coming to Broadway until 2019-2020 because the same producers are doing King Kong and didn't want their mega shows to compete. Does anyone know if that's the case? I really want to see Moulin Rouge but would rather not pay travel expenses to see it in Boston if it will be in NY within a few months.

I don't know for sure....but I'm guessing the EARLIEST MR would make NY would be spring of 2019.
