Yay! next to normal's slow but steady climb continues! In attendance AND average ticket price!
Hair #7 overall in grosses!!! They really need to extend God of Carnage. Even if it's with different actors. Great numbers. Really sad that August saw a decrease in grosses with Rashad in the cast. It really can't last much longer.
Good for Next to Normal!
Looks like a lot of other shows went down though.
Rough week. Surprised about the increases of N2N and Godot.
Yay Next to Normal! The steady increase continues!

OUCH for August, & I still don't understand this, I went to the box office at 12:05 on Sunday and checked about rush and the lady said it was in the REAR MEZZ. I then said to her "Why in the rear mezz the show is NOT selling out, Can I get a rush ticket in the Orc or Front Mezz" She replied "That's where the student tickets are".
I don't get this, Can anyone tell me why they do this?
I mean like if they're selling 100% and offer rush in the rear mezz I'd be fine with it but it's NOT selling at all.
Anyone know how much longer it'll be around? I want to see it but want to sit in decent rush seats

Uh oh...this looks like the worst week yet.
tking001, why can't you just be happy with the fact the show offers rush? Besides, the Music Box isn't that big.
Because they are selling the tickets to you at a HUGE discount. They have the right to make you sit in the back.
I dont think anyone should be surprised at the steady climb for
"N2N"- The word-of-mouth is very good, and it IS Tony time, and people are curious.
What the heck happened to HAIR?
It's been on TKTS a lot lately.

tking, if it's so empty take the rush seat and move up at intermission if there are open seats.
HAIR has nothing to worry about. In a week, it'll be the Tony Award-winner for Best Revival and ticket sales will go through the roof.
What made 9 TO 5 have such a decline this week?
I have nothing against HAIR at all. I am absolutely dying to see it. But usually the Best Revival Tony doesn't have much effect on the box office. And it's a shame that the production may only win 1 tony.

Well, not sure if it's a sign but I by chanced looked for a ticket using the HAIR discount code which supposedly expires the 14th and got a discounted seat for the 25th.
I agree, it is a shame it'll win only one award. But word of mouth is VERY strong and after it wins the Tony and performs on the telecast, I'm sure word of mouth will only get stronger. It deserves to take Lighting, Revival, Direction, and Featured Actor.
Go see it ASAP, ljay! It's the best show on Broadway.
Remember, these grosses are according to the new "gross gross" reporting methods, so a comparison to last week isn't really helpful.
I am really dying to see it! I am hoping to very soon. I am kind of embarrassed I haven't seen it yet, lol.
I definitely think the Tony will have an effect on Hair's box office.
9 to 5 : (

Guys and Dolls keeps surprising me with not great but not awful numbers so far...

When I stood in line Thursday night to buy tickets to Avenue Q, I couldn't believe the huge crowds of people who were trying to buy tickets. It was chaotic, confusing and pushy. Then... I realized I was in line for the God of Carnage box office. Went one theater over to the John Golden, and it was totally deserted. However, the theater was fairly full (except for the last 5 rows of the rear mezz) and the audience was very receptive, moreso than it was the last few times I saw Q. It was interesting though that this was the first time that the George Bush line fell flat. Normally it brings down the house, but on Thursday night, people more or less didnt' respond to the line at all.
