Studio 54 isn't that huge...but it's not TINY I wanna say 950 but that's just a guess. I'm sure someone here knows. Does anyone know what 110 in the Shade's weeklyrunning costs are?

If you look at the same week last year, you see the same kind of accross-the-board drop. It must have something to do with it being the week after Memorial day. Is NYC really a hot destination for that week? Isn't it more typical for vacationing tourists to head to more beachy places for the first week of summer?

I'm in the apparel game and last week was awesome for business; finally had some good weather nation wide to sell those spring looks.

I come into town quite a bit and I don't see anything new that really jumps out at me. Curtains & Legally are not that appealing and Xanadu? I will take a pass for the cash. The only thing out I have not seen that I want to see is Grey Gardens and it is dark the night I have time this month.

I'm definitely feeling the sting of the ticket prices, even with discount codes, and I dont think I have time to do rush. It sucks but what can you do?

The Company thing is anxiety provoking. I want to see it again and wont be able to go until after the Tonys, and I'm just wondering what kind of effect the win or lack thereof is going to have on the show's morale

I believe the main reason "110 in the Shade"'s numbers may seem a little low is that the Roundabout is a subscription theatre, so a lot of people seeing the show are seeing it through their subscription (and therefore, at a substantial discount). I think that for each subscriber ticket they simply allocate a certain dollar amount. Thus, the total gross would be lower than you'd expect. There may also be comps reflected. You can see that the average ticket price is substantially lower than for other broadway musicals.

If the total capacity numbers in the gross table are accurate, then the total seating at Studio 54 is 996.

Wow...you learn a lot from the gross boards. I didn't know there was a show called Old Aquaintence. And i'm within walking distance from Broadway!

A little known fact is that in the original screenplay, Pan's Labyrinth was Pan's FLAByrinth. Hmmmmmmm...glad they changed it.

I'm really nervous for Company. I feel like if they don't pick up a few Tonys they won't last much longer. This was a bad week overall.

I think Studio 54 seats 970--- If you look at the avg ticket price, pretty low, hence the low total gross, even though 88%

No one has commented on Rent. Was there a reason for a 25% drop there?

Rent had an 11.3% drop this same week last year. If you look at the history for Rent's attendance, it's consistant every year. An increase in attendance for at least the two weeks before Memorial day, a drop of 10-25% every year for the week of Memorial day, and then increases again for at least two weeks after that.

It's the same every year, just as it is with most shows (With some exceptions). Just click on any show on the "Grosses" page and you can see that show's history.

I don't know if it's because of Memorial Day, the letdown after the increased sales burst generated from the publicity of the Tony nominations, or the lead up to the Tony awards themselves. It's probably a combination of all three.

Xanadu had a drop because of the cancelled performance (I believe)...

Legally Blonde is the least of the ones I'm worried about. Well, besides Wicked and the Lion King.

I think Broadway as a whole wil go up after the Tony's.. I'm headed there this weekend to see Wicked and Legally Blonde myslef.. and both shows were just about full when I bought tickets today.. So that's good news.. At least I hope they all go up!! But I'm happy for Wicked!

Wow... I'm shocked... Deuce and Drowsy in the 50's.. Chorus Line at 71... Avenue Q at 66. I was in orchestra in Deuce, and at least the Orchestra section was full (may 31).. not sure about the mezzanine. Drowsy had a few pockets of empty seats in mezz, not sure about orchestra (may 30). I was very surprised by ACL on May 30.. there were huge gaps in mezz. Is this off week just an anomaly or is it a frightening trend? Of all the shows, I think "Drowsy" was my favorite... in spite of the two talkative !itches next to me. Hopefully, the Tonys will increase the box office overall. from R. C. in Austin, Texas..

I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

I think since most people went away for Memorial Day weekend, the week following that always sees a drop in attendance. I would like to see Company above 50% one last time.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Someone on All That Chat posted that Pirate Queen would be closing on July 8. Has anyone else heard that?
(I have tickets to Sept 2nd performance)

Not too good for A Chorus Line, considering the Schoenfeld seats about 2 people.

really? wow, my parents have THE PIRATE QUEEN tickets for July 7th. lucky stuff right there.

anyways, im also not worried about LEGALLY BLONDE. though their attendance is going down, financially the show is keeping a fairly steady gross each week. still, i do hope and expect better numbers in the coming weeks!
