Hope they are still open by October."
CAROUSEL and SUMMER were bothover $800,000. Nothing at all AWFUL about them. And even KINKY BOOTS at $679K is still well above breakeven.
I don’t know how many times I’ve said this, but please stop looking at the grosses to judge how a show is doing as they tell you virtually nothing. Look at the percentage of gross potential, and if you really want to evaluate a show’s success look at the average ticket price. So, for example, when you say that Kinky Boots is well above breakeven, you have no way in the world of knowing that’s true. But at 52% of gross potential, those boots sure ain’t dancing in the streets.

Still stunned by the average ticket price for Springsteen. $508.48. Wow. That's not chump change.

Looking at 'percentage of GP' (which makes total sense), then 'Head Over Heels' should be closed by the time I finish typing this.
As for 'Summer', it looks like it's snapping back after the July 4th holiday. The tourists are in NYC again - and this is the perfect night at the theater for them. Imagine if this had a great book to it, like 'Jersey Boys'?
And on the subject of HOH and SUMMER, I just looked at the grosses and realized 'Escape to Margaritaville' was gone - and it closed 2 weeks ago! (How did I miss that?) Wow - they didn't even wait for the summer tourist crowd.

You can make an educated guess based on the potential gross percentage (it's generally safe to say even a mid-sized musical that's pulling in 40% or less is probably not covering all of their weekly costs), but without knowing for sure what those costs are that number doesn't really provide any concrete information in regards to a show's financial health.

Actually, “dear”, I’m entirely correct. But I won’t waste my time explaining it to you, though most fifth graders could understand it

It’s a very fair question. One of the reason might be that it’s much more difficult to quote only just the relevant portion (which I agree is clearly preferable) if you’re using a device to post as opposed to a PC, for example.

I see what this is about, BC is an established member and you resent that, as you want to be also, but just joined a few months ago, I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but you have no dominance on this board, and don’t have the respect BC does. In fact, everytime you post you alienate more of the users on the site

Oh girl you love it. Gives you a chance to talk down to someone you feel is "lesser" than you. It's super cute to bully someone you think is a bully.
