Good numbers for Chicago. Worrisome grosses for H O H.

Sadly, at this point it looks like the Tony win really didn't do anything for OOTI. Sticking by my Labor Day closing prediction.

Those numbers for Carousel, Kinky Boots and Summer are AWFUL!
Hope they are still open by October.

Gone by the end of the year: Kinky Boots, Beautiful, Summer, Head Over Heels & Carousel. Lots of new shows waiting for a theater to open up, too.

CAROUSEL and SUMMER were both over $800,000. Nothing at all AWFUL about them. And even KINKY BOOTS at $679K is still well above breakeven.

Kinky Boots....girl. But it looks like it closing may line up with what someone said about Moulin Rouge going into that theater come March.
I'm in the minority but I actually kinda liked Summer. Though just from word-of-mouth, i'm not surprised it's not doing well.

Instead of spelling out doom for shows that may or may not close, can we talk about the financial prospects of some of these other shows?
For the past few weeks, I have been confused by The Book of Mormon's numbers. How can a show that's playing at almost 104% capacity every week have such middling grosses? Pretty soon, The Book of Mormon might start grossing under $1 million, which could very well end its run (I'm probably being facetious here, but this was just something I noticed.)
Edit: I think I figured it out (and anyone can correct me if I'm wrong!) The Book of Mormon built its entire marketing campaign when it opened on how Howard it was to get a ticket, noting how people were shelling over $500+ for tickets (this was pre-Hamilton, obviously.) Nowadays, not only are some of those tickets being sold for lower prices, but people aren't necessarily paying full price for Book of Mormon tickets anymore! What I still don't understand is how it has consistently showed giant numbers in terms of capacity, but the grosses don't necessarily reflect that, if you guys know what I mean!

I don't think Once on this Island will be gone by Labor Day, they would have probably announced that already. Head Over Heels will be however.

Why are you so obsessed with controlling the conversation that many others want to have about shows that could soon announce closing?

Yeah, the people saying that Once On This Island is going to pack it all up by Labor Day clearly have very thick skulls. If you know Ken Davenport, he will try to keep that thing open until all the money is gone!

OOTI is likely making it's weekly nut. I think it can be grouped into the "closed by end of year".

THE BOOK OF MORMON made nearly 92% of its potential gross over seven years into its run. It's not going anywhere anytime soon.

No, he's gonna start a Kickstarter to have the Tony-winning Best Musical Revival of 2018 perform on the 2019 Tonys! Brilliant producing scheme...

Mormon is still doing great business but the grosses were always going to decline given it's been running seven years but even when it starts to gross under $1m a week, it's still comfortably making a profit.

I'm not sure why people are always at the ready to predict doom for OOTI other than a hatred for its producer. In terms of Gross Potential, sure it could be better, but it's not disastrously low, either. And while they are surely getting discounts, there is apparently a decent amount of audience for the show with 97% capacity. (And, yes, I know capacity has little to do with the economic numbers, blah blah blah. I'm just saying it's not like no one is seeing it.)
I find it funny that the same people bemoaning ticket prices and going as cheaply as you can (and you should - I, too, love a discount) seem almost gleeful every week when the OOTI numbers come out and they aren't high. Hmmm... you can't have cheap tickets AND high grosses.
How long it lasts at this point is anybody's guess. But this weekly death watch is really not very becoming.

I know the series is currently on hiatus, but I'm waiting for you two to be the first installment of the return of Epic Rap Battles of History. xD

Oof, that would be rigid! :'D
I like to think that BroadwayConcierge and I are a lot like Hamilton and Jefferson (him being Hamilton, me being Jefferson): both on the same scale and spectrum in terms of dominance, yet we both have different ideals when it comes to this board and whatnot.

I agree about Waitress being in trouble. As much as I like that show, I think it'll be gone right after the holidays.
