Wow...Hair and Priscilla aren't doing so great! Their numbers could stand improvement...especially Hair. from RC in Austin, Texas
Hair. Ouch.
I gave Hair another week to see if maybe it was just the July 4 holiday that kept people away, but now I see that nobody really wants to see this again. When they first announced they'd take the St. James I thought it was rather dumb for them to take such a large house. They would have been better in the Longacre or Belasco.
would like to see better numbers for Sister Act. really thought it would do well over the summer.

"Sister Act" could be in trouble soon because BWW is offering 30% off on tickets.

^ They've had discounts out for awhile.
Priscilla is actually doing just fine. I'm sure they would like better numbers, but they are doing fine in terms of reaching their weekly running costs, believe it or not.
Sister Act has had discounts even before it opened. Any show that's been in that barn called the Broadway Theater has always had discounts. Promises, Promises; Shrek; Color Purple, etc. Probably the only hit to have played that theater was Miss Saigon.

Don't forget the original production of Les Miserables and Evita.
Ouch for SISTER ACT...I have a feeling that the Broadway will be kicking the nuns out on their habits by year's end.
SISTER ACT, PRISCILLA, and CATCH ME are all in trouble this fall.

And the original production of Gypsy.
And The Color Purple, I believe it recouped.
SISTER ACT really needed a win for Patina to get some business, but oh well. Guess it won't happen. I loved it.
And I think HAIR is doing fine. They brought it back to capitalize on the tourists. It is not like it's an open-ended run.
While I didn't love it, it's nice to see Motherf**ker go out with such fantastic numbers.
PRISCILLA's grosses actually went up, not by much but they did go up. Maybe the new commercial is working.
Still rooting for CATCH ME to do well going into the Fall...

Is there a chance Sister Act will still be around in August? That's when I have tickets.
Highly likely the show will still be open. There aren't even any rumors of its closing yet.
(If you had tix for Sept or Oct, I'd think you had more to worrry about.)
I have a friend, however, that walked out on her first b'way show: Sister Act.
Really? While it's nowhere near perfect, I don't think it's bad at all. I really enjoyed myself.
I do wish they'd cut some songs. I still live by the fact that not every main character in a musical needs their own song (I.E. Adams Family).

I saw Hair last Saturday night and the place was packed. I think the NYT and Post reviews may give it a boost. It was very enjoyable and was in good shape -- definitely not a last-gasp effort at the end of a tour. And the audience went wild.
Absolutely agree, I saw it last night, lotto was crazy, house was packed and the show is wonderful. Steel is a great Berger. Those numbers will go up this week.
