Posted: 7/22/19 at 4:56pmI find if it interesting that Beautiful had one more show than the previous week (due to the blackout) and still made less $$$ than the week before. It’s the only show from last week with that distinction.

I believe Beautiful was unaffected by the blackout. I could be wrong, but I don't think they had to cancel.

Beautiful did not have to cancel a show -- they were one of the few that did not lose power (the group of "B" shows).

Posted: 7/22/19 at 5:04pmBeetlejuice is really surprising me. I expected it to be on a slow decline, similar to Tootsie. I guess the positive word-of-mouth among tourists is working in its favor. If it keeps grossing above the million mark, it should be safe for now!

Funny that the critics loved Tootsie but audiences don't seem to agree. Yet critics hated Beetlejuice, but audiences are loving it.

Funny how Tootsie increased this week and bested your fav show by half a million dollars.....

I'm glad to see this bump for Beetlejuice too! It was one of only 3 new musicals on Broadway this season that I actually enjoyed. Glad to see it hasn't been hit too hard by the lack of love by critics and awards voters. We'll see how it does in the long term though.

At this point if the outlook for the advance was hopelessly bleak for the fall then the closing notice would have gone up. I would be willing to lay down money that it lasts through New Years now at the very least (unless there’s a rapid unexpected drop after Labor Day)

Audiences are indeed enjoying Tootsie. Just not here in your bubble. Gee.. the bs you people come up with.

Beetlejuice is benefiting from camp groups and summer excursions. It has nothing to do with being a audience favorite. It is not.

Posted: 7/22/19 at 6:48pmThe Marquis has more seats than the Winter Garden, so it's usually inevitable Tootsie makes more money. (It's only 100 or so more, I think. Still a decent amount.)

Exactly. I was in a completely sold out Saturday evening performance last month, and the audience was enthralled by the show.

Posted: 7/22/19 at 7:02pmThe Wall Street Journal had an article about Beetlejuice becoming more popular and making more money and they said it probably won’t decline after summer because Halloween will be soon and that will fit Beetlejuice perfectly!

Honestly, InTheBathroom's comment seemed to be a genuine observation, mixed in with curiosity. I saw no snark or touchiness in their comment. You're the one who got edgy over it. And you continue to do so whenever someone claims that they don't like your show, or that it's not doing great. (Referring to the other Tootsie thread)
Also, just as an aside, I don't like Tootsie either. At all. And I know plenty of people who don't. Do I count as an audience member? Do any of us who don't like it count?

You are to Be More Chill what Michael Riedel was to Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark.

If you go on ticketmaster right now for this friday, about 3/4 of the house is still available for BJuice.
